This is NOT a copy or modified but an original item. This is really very very rare. I sell lights since 1989 and I had never seen a beauty like this. The size is impressive: 30" 3/4 width (78cm) / 45" 1/3 tall (115cm) / 19" depth (48cm) Höhe 115cm Breite 78cm Tiefe 48cm Very nice looking condition: all made with metal, no paint, natural original finish, just cleaned. The patina is awesome, please look at the pictures. The glass is original and perfect. Good working condition: rewired (a footswitch has been added) and ready to work. No bulb included. I changed the large old socket to a B22 edison bayonet socket because it is easy to find a B22 bulb. However the original XXL socket is included in this sale, it is really a large one! (please look at the picture with a B22 on the left to compare). The bulb in the lamp for the pictures is a 100 watts and the light is very nice with this power and seams to be 300 watts only with 100 watts. It is possible to use the power of your choice. The original bulb was a 200 watts 1930 Edison bulb with extra large socket but it was not in working condition. It is easy to change the bulb: two screws on the back to open, that's all. Very large vintage French table lamp carved wood base with hide skin shade. The base of the lamp is round with carved details and is finished in a washed beige color with gold high lights. To the top of the base is a wooden candle drip. Above the candle drip is a white bulb and shade holder and the shade is round in hide skin with a braid around the top and bottom. This large country style lantern would suit many room settings adding a touch of French country charm to your home decoration. Cet objet issu d'assemblage de pièces moullées en fonte dont  les détails débordent de toutes parts. Une conception d'un artiste forgeron inconnu d'avant le 19 ème siècle, qui donnera un charme authentique, unique, en relief, d'une rareté que beaucoup vous enviraient dans   votre cheminée. Il vous émerveillera par la beauté des décors et leurs mises en valeur lorsque les flammes scintillent dans ce foyer; les ombres des lévriers animant le fond de votre cheminée.     description:  époque datant d'avant le 19 ème ou 18 ème siècle  pièce en fonte donc assez lourde, je dirais autour de 50kg voir un peu plus.  quelques légères imperfections dans les moulures de fonte, dûes aux techniques de l'époque, n'entament en rien la beauté de ce porte braise.  assemblage avec visserie carrées.  la partie haute est formée d'un visage féminin entourré de probablement deux lévriers.  les deux pieds de façade sont constitués de deux mascaron visages d'hommes a barbes.  l'objet a en de multiples endroits des rameaux de feuillages magnifiques et des losanges décorés      dimensions:        objet complet:   hauteur partie du fond: 62cm                               hauteur partie devant: 32cm                               largeur maxi: 69cm                               profondeur: 27cm       dimensions foyer: largeur: 40cm                                  hauteur: 16cm                                  profondeur: mini 18cm et maxi 24cm                            Le prix  de cet objet est défini de par son âge, sa rareté et par sa conservation exceptionnelle. Cela étant dû au fait qu'il n'a pas été utilisé intensivement au cours des siècles précédents, si ça avait été le cas, il se   serait deformé par la chaleur ou aurait été félé par les distortions irrégulières de chaleur ou les chocs, car la fonte est cassante.
