Tapis ancien Marocain Berber fait main Français -bo n état original:  petites taches, -date approximative: 1910, -taille: 147cm x 239cm, -matière: laine, -pays d' origine: Maroc, -style: Berber, -couleurs:  bleu ciel, orange vif, rouge foncé, blanc, vert.   English Antique hand made Moroccan rug in original condition. The rug is in sky blue colour with tribal design on it in red and bright orange shades. Large red medallion in the shape of diamond in the center. Smaller diamonds in orange shade or on the both ends. The little animals are randomly imaged among with tribal figures on the filed of this carpet. The condition is original good. In the historic area encompassing the modern nation of Morocco, the tradition of rug-making is just about as old as it is anywhere in the world. The early adoption of rug-making by native Moroccans is certainly due in large part to the distinctive climate of the region: Moroccan rugs may be very thick with a heavy pile, making them useful for the snow-capped Atlas Mountains; or they may be flat woven and light as to suit the hot climate of the Sahara desert. The nomadic Moroccans and Berber tribes used these pile, knotted, and flat-woven carpets as bed coverings and sleeping mats, as well as for self-adornment, and burial shrouds. Some of these rugs were also used for as saddle blankets. The designs that most frequently appear in Moroccan rugs are traditional and ancient, passed down from weaver to weaver. Elsewhere in Morocco, most major cities have a unique style or design characteristic that distinguishes their carpets. Perhaps the most important carpet-producing city in Morocco is the long time Moroccan capital, Fes. Fes reached its golden age during the Marinid Dynasty of the thirteenth century. At that point, the city was home to over one hundred dye workers and thousands of artisan embroidery studios located in the city's medina. The coastal capital, Rabat, is famous for carpets woven with floral and diamond-shaped elements, and a fairly bare field. Moroccan rugs experienced a growth in popularity in the West with mid-century modern designers – such as Le Corbusier – who paired the thick piled Berber rugs with their sleekly designed furniture. Many of these Berber carpets are woven by the Beni Ourain peoples from the Rif Mountains near Taza. Colors vary from neutral shades to popping hues, with designs ranging from ordered geometric shapes to a more free-form, expressive pattern. Part of the appeal to the modernists was the primitivism in the carpets. Unlike the traditional antique Oriental rugs found in Western interior decoration, there is little elegance about these rugs, yet they fit wonderfully with modernist décor. Vintage and antique Moroccan rugs are fairly popular today for their decorative flexibility and reasonable pricing as compared to other styles of antique rugs. -condition:   original good, -circa:  1910, -size:  4.8' x 7.8' (147cm x 239cm) , -material:  wool, -country of origin:  Morocco, -style:  Berber, -background colours:  sky blue, bright orange, deep red, white, green. #1C438 One Royal Art Nous expédions habituellement sous 3-7  jours ouvrables par Colissimo ou UPS. LOBELIA LANURIENSIS Very scarce Giant Lobelia coming from Uganda, Rwenzori Mountains  Limited quantity of seeds Plant endemic to Uganda.  Its habitat is an Afroalpine climate (between 2800 and 3600 meters high). Giant Lobelia or Tree Lobelia. Although coming from the Campanulaceae family which counts around 415 species of Lobelias, only a handful are true marvels and giant,  sometimes looking like trees. The inflorescence can easily reach 2 meterS high (sometimes 3 to 4 meters), extending the total height to several meters. It's lifespan in habitat is well over 50 years, a giant inflorescence can be produced when aged. It grows in moist areas, such as highland lichen and mosses forests, margins of afroalpine forests and moorland, highland marshes,  near bogs, in contrast to Lobelia telekii for instance which grows in a similar, but drier habitat. The bracts (they're specialized leaves) can hold some water that insulate the center of the plant through cold nights. About Lobelia lanuriensis, avoid excessive heat or too dry atmosphere and warm nights, need a bit of cool air... Once established, these giant lobelias are quite low maintenance. Especially adapted to the high levels of UV radiation, humidity, and near daily frost. Very rare offering, so don't miss this opportunity, you could wait years before having your hands again on this species. The offer is for 50+ fresh & viable seeds (+ meaning a few ones more) (harvested first week of november 2017). Since the collection, seeds are kept in the dark, dry box at 8°c, although not recalcitrant seeds, this considerably extend their viability. I prefer my customers have plenty of seeds to experience with, even if it's less lots for sale in total. Expectation of germination for this species is around 30-60% maximum (in nature it's far less). Please note that i can't presume your level of skills about germinating, but with the instructions and the freshness of the  seeds, you're in good hands. Growing giant lobelias from seed is really the best bet, as transplantation of young plants is often disastrous...   Lobelia lanuriensis isn't a very difficult species (both for germinating and care after), although not a plant for beginners. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical climate at high elevations, what we can call an Afro-alpine climate.  Places like New Zealand, Ireland or British Columbia (for instance) will be the best for this species outside. And others locations in a greenhouse.
