Tapis ancien Art Dèco Chinois fait main Français -condition:  bon original, petites taches, -date approximative: 1930, -taille: 272cm x 353cm, -matière: laine, -pays d' origine: Chine, -style: Art Dèco, -couleurs: beige, bleu, pêche.   English Handmade antique Art Deco Chinese rug in original condition. The rug is made in french Aubusson style with soft beige shade. The blue shade in the middle is contrasting beige medallion in floral design. The beige border has very soft touch of peach flowers on it. The rug is in good condition, despite some little stains. Art Deco Rugs - The Deco period was an international design movement from 1920's to 1940's. It produced a mix of many different styles borrowing design influences from neoclassical, constructivism, cubism, modernism and art nouveau. The Art Deco movement led to the evolution of the carpet revolution. Antique carpets made before the 1920's, especially the more refined oriental carpets, did not compliment the modern decor and Art Deco furnishings. A new style was taking shape that reflected this movement. Carpet design evolved from floral to angular elegance with modern, abstract and figurative motifs. The color palate is both bold and muted with interesting juxtapositions of light and dark. The design is frequently spare, geometric, and architectural with a luxurious feel. Such characteristics come together to create the aesthetics of a large swath of vintage rugs. Such legendary artists as Picasso, Poiret, Gray, Delaunay, Klee, Paul and Dorn shaped this evolution. Paule Leleu the daughter of Jules Leleu of the famed House of Leleu was a talented creator whose vision also contributed to these highly collectible rugs. In the rug trade, term Art Deco or Deco (for short) applies to European and certain Chinese carpets that reflect the new movements in modern European decorative arts during the first third of the twentieth century. Art Deco Rugs are characterized by experimentation with bold colors, angular lines, and the omission of heavy ornamentation. Over the past few years, the demand for art deco rugs and art deco carpets has grown tremendously. Partly fueled by the revival of mid-century modernist interior design trends, Art deco rugs come from various regions in Europe but some of the most coveted pieces are the art deco carpets or rugs that were made in France, China and Scandinavia (which are really mid-century modern but when it comes to interior design the term art deco does fit in well). Since a rug need to be 80 years old or older to be called antique, in only a few more years, the art deco vintage rug could be be referred to as Antique Art Deco rugs. -condition:  original good, little stains, -circa:  1930, -size:  9' x 11.6' (272cm x 353cm) , -material:  wool, -country of origin:  China, -style:  Art Deco, -background colours:  beige, blue, peach. #1L12 One Royal Art Nous expédions habituellement sous 3-7  jours ouvrables par Colissimo ou UPS. Tapis ancien Marocain Berber fait main Français -bo n état original:  petites taches, -date approximative: 1910, -taille: 147cm x 239cm, -matière: laine, -pays d' origine: Maroc, -style: Berber, -couleurs:  bleu ciel, orange vif, rouge foncé, blanc, vert.   English Antique hand made Moroccan rug in original condition. The rug is in sky blue colour with tribal design on it in red and bright orange shades. Large red medallion in the shape of diamond in the center. Smaller diamonds in orange shade or on the both ends. The little animals are randomly imaged among with tribal figures on the filed of this carpet. The condition is original good. In the historic area encompassing the modern nation of Morocco, the tradition of rug-making is just about as old as it is anywhere in the world. The early adoption of rug-making by native Moroccans is certainly due in large part to the distinctive climate of the region: Moroccan rugs may be very thick with a heavy pile, making them useful for the snow-capped Atlas Mountains; or they may be flat woven and light as to suit the hot climate of the Sahara desert. The nomadic Moroccans and Berber tribes used these pile, knotted, and flat-woven carpets as bed coverings and sleeping mats, as well as for self-adornment, and burial shrouds. Some of these rugs were also used for as saddle blankets. The designs that most frequently appear in Moroccan rugs are traditional and ancient, passed down from weaver to weaver. Elsewhere in Morocco, most major cities have a unique style or design characteristic that distinguishes their carpets. Perhaps the most important carpet-producing city in Morocco is the long time Moroccan capital, Fes. Fes reached its golden age during the Marinid Dynasty of the thirteenth century. At that point, the city was home to over one hundred dye workers and thousands of artisan embroidery studios located in the city's medina. The coastal capital, Rabat, is famous for carpets woven with floral and diamond-shaped elements, and a fairly bare field. Moroccan rugs experienced a growth in popularity in the West with mid-century modern designers – such as Le Corbusier – who paired the thick piled Berber rugs with their sleekly designed furniture. Many of these Berber carpets are woven by the Beni Ourain peoples from the Rif Mountains near Taza. Colors vary from neutral shades to popping hues, with designs ranging from ordered geometric shapes to a more free-form, expressive pattern. Part of the appeal to the modernists was the primitivism in the carpets. Unlike the traditional antique Oriental rugs found in Western interior decoration, there is little elegance about these rugs, yet they fit wonderfully with modernist décor. Vintage and antique Moroccan rugs are fairly popular today for their decorative flexibility and reasonable pricing as compared to other styles of antique rugs. -condition:   original good, -circa:  1910, -size:  4.8' x 7.8' (147cm x 239cm) , -material:  wool, -country of origin:  Morocco, -style:  Berber, -background colours:  sky blue, bright orange, deep red, white, green. #1C438 One Royal Art Nous expédions habituellement sous 3-7  jours ouvrables par Colissimo ou UPS.
