It utilizes 1 x 12AX7/ECC83 and 1 x 12AU7/ECC82 pre-amp tubes and one JJ el84 in the power amp. With a combination of pre-amp ‘volume gain’ and a ‘master volume’ control the ‘Lucas BL05’ can create great, rich natural overdrive at lower volumes or crisp, articulate cleans with good headroom and everything else in between. Take the ‘volume gain’ past 12 o’clock and the sweet sound of a naturally overdriven tube amp starts to kick in. Past this point the amp will break up more and more taking you from an edgy blues twang all the way through to an authentic classic rock crunch. Accompanied by a very responsive 3 band EQ, presence control and high/low gain inputs there are many tone shaping possibilities with this amp.
