One of the first EL34 Philips metal rim annular disc getter early 50ies test NOS This EL34 is extremely rare. This is an EL60 with an octal socket adapter! EL34 tubes were developed by Philips from mid-late 1948 to May 1949 at the Philips Eindhoven "Nat Lab" (Natuurkundig Laboratorium) building, and produced for the first time in June of 1949 in the "De Witte Dame" factory in Eindhoven in Holland. The engraved code on the metal rim is difficult to read: 5U ?E? It might be 5U MEC The tubes gives 101mA at the following test conditions (Metrix test parameters) V filament 6,3V V polarization: -13V V grid: 250V V anode 250V 100% = 100mA Tested on Metrix U61C Tube dimension glass diameter 32mm base without the pins to the top of the glass 105mm
