La console StudioLive 16.0.2, forte de cet héritage, marche dans les pas de ses grandes sœurs en offrant la même qualité audio dans un format plus compact et tout aussi performant. Cette console offre 8 entrées mono ainsi que 4 entrées stéréo, 12 préamplis XMAX™ Class A viennent en renfort de cet arsenal – et même 13 si vous ajoutez à cela le préampli TALKBACK. Ne vous y laissez pas tromper, ce petit format est pourtant une StudioLive à part entière. Tout ce qui est du ressort des traitements, routings, intégration logicielle, effets, conversion, la 16.0.2 est issue de la même exigence et du même esprit de simplicité dans l’innovation. La StudioLive 16.0.2 dispose d’une interface Firewire16x16, livrée avec les logiciels Capture™, Studio One Artist™ ainsi que le désormais renommé Virtual StudioLive, logiciel de contrôle bidirectionnel. Preuve que tout est sur cette petite dernière comme sur les « grandes », elle peut être contrôlée à distance de la même manière avec l’application gratuite iPad SL Remote. Le Fat Channel de la 16.0.2 n’est pas en reste, il dispose d’une pléthore de traitements; compresseurs, limiteurs, gates, inverseurs de phase, filtres passe-bas, et équaliseurs 3 bandes semi paramétriques...La résolution de traitement des FX A et B internes est de 32 bits flottantes et concerne réverbérations et delays. Mais on peu aussi remarquer que cette console est pourvue de quelque chose que les deux autres modèles n’ont pas ! En effet, les entrées et sorties MIDI...vous aurez donc la possibilité par ce biais de contrôler les réglages de la console par « program change » que ce soit d’un pédalier sur scène ou par un séquenceur logiciel, comme Studio One Artist™ par exemple. Les options sont multiples et modifier le volume du mix général, les retours d’effets, les mutes ou les scènes complètes est désormais possible en exclusivité sur la StudioLive 16.0.2 grâce à la magie du MIDI. Le mix parfait est chose fastidieuse mais il est encore davantage lorsqu’après des heures, des jours de travail, voir plus, on souhaite revenir en arrière pour au final se repositionner sur la proposition de départ...Un mix étant très complexe, il intègre des éléments aussi variés que les niveaux, de la dynamique, des traitements, de l’égalisation et chaque chanson dispose de ses réglages propres.
