Both the white and oak finishes had to be ordered individually and were sent directly from Denmark with a 10-week lead time, making them even more sought after. - This pair have spent their life on wall brackets so are immaculate cosmetically and have benefited from a recent special oak wax treatment. - Regularly recommended on Beoworld - Superior sonically to the often sought out S75 in terms of range. - Genuine B&O wall mounts and aluminium stands both available for purchase separately to place them out of the way or make an elegant feature in the room. See my other listings. - Adds hugely to the all important mid-range over the S35, S45 (2-way) and even the S50 and so better with vocals or classical music in particular - Linear phase sound reproduction design means that all of the frequencies reach your ear at the same time giving the purest reproduction of the original recording. - Sound like new (with the benefit of a run-in too, of course) With its three-way speaker system, the Beovox S45.2 replaced the original S45 in 1978 and comprised a 200mm woofer, 90mm mid-range unit as well as a 25mm tweeter. You will find these speakers regularly recommended on BeoWorld. They have the same height and width as the lesser S35 speakers but are 3cm deeper and 1kg heavier. This small size difference makes an immense difference to the sound though. The extra filler drive unit adds hugely to the all important midrange sound and this is, to many users' ears, the best balanced bookshelf speaker made by B&O. What it lacks in ultimate bass, it repays in accuracy and tone. The optional floor stand is elegant and effective and worth hunting out. A capacitor change may be needed to make an old pair sing but you are very unlikely to be disappointed by purchasing a pair of these. For those in search of more bass, S75s are the bigger brother but lack the sonic purity found in the S45.2. To beat these in this range, you need M100s and a bigger house! As standard it features all of the original TB-303 controls, and also has an external audio input through the filter and VCA. Overlapping midi notes gives you that essential 303 note slide, and any midi note with a velocity of 120 or more will trigger the note accent. Realistically if this synth was programmed correctly, you would be VERY hard pressed to distinguish between this unit and a real 303 in a mix. In a side by side comparison i'd say it sounds a little meatier than the Behringer TD3, with a little more girth and analogue weight to the sound. We have modded this machine with our circuitbenders Acid FM mods to give a huge range of extra sounds, without diluting the essential TB-303 character. MODS INCLUDE: VCO On/Off Switch: Normally when you plug a jack into the external VCF input, the MB33's VCO is automatically removed from the mix. As there may be occasions where you don't want this to happen, or situations such as when you're using the filter lock mod (see below) when you want to be able to turn the VCO on and off yourself, we've added a switch to add manual control of this. VCO Drive: The MB33 retro seems to be designed to slightly distort the output stage at full volume, much like the TB303 did. The Drive mod boosts this distortion savagely for some grungy acid techno sounds. This mod increases the maximum amount of distortion at maximum volume. The intensity of the distortion can be set using the normal volume knob. Resonance Boost Switch: An annoying issue with these machines is that the resonance never reaches self oscillation (but then neither did the TB303) and also drops off considerably when the cutoff is over 3/4 of the way up. We've solved this problem by adding the resonance boost switch. With this switch activated the filter starts to squeal with the resonance about halfway up, and then just screams with self oscillation at any higher settings. The resonance boost is especially effective when used with the VCF FM mods. VCF FM: Essentially VCF FM (Frequency Modulation) allows you to modulate the filter cutoff at audio frequencies to create all kinds of clanging cross modulation and bizarre alien splatters & sweeps. This effect works best with the resonance cranked up into self oscillation which is where the resonance boost mod comes into play. The FM controls allow you to select one of four sources for the FM signal. The first is the normal filter input socket round the back. This means you can run a sound through the filter section, but also use that sound to modulate the filter cutoff at audio frequencies at the same time. The second source is a new FM input jack on the right hand side of the case. Using this source allows you to run a sound through the filter from the VCF input or just use the internal VCO, and at the same time modulate the filter cutoff with an entirely independent sound source at the FM in jack. The actual audio from the FM in jack is not heard. The remaining two sources are the sawtooth and square wave signal from the main oscillator. These can be selected as sources completely independently of the setting on the VCO waveform knob The FM source select knob also has an 'off' setting. The amount of FM applied to the VCF is controlled using the VCF FM knob. Nice E-Mu ESI 4000 Sampler, In good clean condition and full working order. ESI is the very latest in the long line of high quality and affordable E-mu sampling products. ESI features 22.05 kHz and 44.1 kHz sampling rates and 16-bit resolution for CD quality sound. Sampling can be performed in either mono or true stereo. 64 channels of polyphony allow you to stack sounds or create lush sequences without fear of channel “ripoff”. The user-upgradable memory can be expanded to a maximum of 128 Mbytes using standard SIMM modules (Details and installation are available at your E-mu dealer).   The ESI has full access to the huge library of sounds available from E-mu and other sources. It is fully compatible with the legendary EIII and EIIIX libraries, and can import Emax II and Akai S1000/S1100 banks. In many cases, the ESI can import and convert programs faster than the source unit!   The advanced features of the ESI make sampling easy. Samples can be automatically truncated, normalized and placed on the keyboard as the sample is taken. C’est non seulement une paire de collection, mais le haut de gamme des luxman des années 1980. Ils sont les dernières combinaisons pré/ampli, à avoir été fabriquées sans implication de Alpine(qui a ensuite  modifié sérieusement la qualité Luxman  hélas.). ils ont été primés "produit de l'année" au début des années 80.  Le M300 se laisse utiliser soit en classe A, où il développe 2x42 w sous 8 ohms en classe A, ou alors 172w en classe AB sous 8 ohms. From above, the charcoal silk finished surface doesn’t give much away, but the underneath of the Base 01 Platform incorporates some clever thinking. A pair of metal beams run from front to back and are linked to the main platform by compliant but absorptive coupling. In turn, the beams rest on four hard rubber feet. The combination of metal, soft coupling and MDF platform material makes for what is effectively constrained layer damping, with enough decoupling to prevent higher frequency vibrations from travelling up from feet to platform. The arrangement gives limited attenuation of very low frequencies, but good performance across mid-range and treble, and the MDF part is relatively non-resonant. This platform proved versatile in use, giving fine results with a range of equipment including both suspended and solid-chassis turntables. It was also very good with CD players, tightening up the sound and also adding bass extension. Amplifiers benefited less obviously, but a valve preamp certainly gained something in the clarity department and a solid-state power amp seemed more detailed in the lower octaves. High treble seemed largely unaltered in most cases, though the turntables gained some slight extra high frequency precision.
