A fine pair of rock crystal and 18ct gold cufflinks that were made in France circa 1910.  A reverse crystal intaglio is a rock crystal cabochon with an intaglio carved into the flat back. The intaglio was also painted realistically with oils so, that when viewed through the top, the image appears three-dimensional. Finally, the back was sealed in order to preserve the painted areas. The technique originated in Belgium c. 1860 and is attributed to an artist named Emile Marius Pradier. This technique was also practiced in England by Thomas Cook and his descendants who made crystals for Lambeth & Co. Production of a reverse crystal intaglio begins with the mining and cutting of fine rock crystal from Brazil or Madagascar. A well-formed cabochon is the key to a beautifully made reverse intaglio and the tedious process of hand polishing it to perfection had to be completed before the design work could begin. A watercolour of the image was painted on the underside of the cabochon and an oil and diamond dust mixture was used along with up to 250 scribing tools to carve the design into the interior of the crystal “…the deeper the carving the more pronounced trompe l’oeil effect.” Once the carving was established the painting process began with extremely fine brushes and paint working in reverse to create incredibly detailed images. The motifs most commonly found are sporting themes – horses, dogs, foxes and birds. This relatively secret process passed through family members, so keeping it exclusive and expectations of quality were very high. They remained in fashion until poorly made glass and plastic imitations flooded the market c. 1920s. These cufflinks were made circa 1900-1910  Cufflinks such as these are very collectable today. Hamilton Chrono-Matic caliber 11 ref. 11002-3 vintage panda chronograph 1970s. État: Occasion For sale is my early 1970s Hamilton Chrono-Matic with the highly desirable panda dial and renowned caliber 11 movement, one of the first automatic chronograph movements in history. Hamilton was part of a conglomerate that endeavored to bring the first automatic chronograph to market, ultimately culminating in the modular caliber 11 in 1969. This watch is in wonderful condition. This Chrono-Matic measures 36mm in diameter and 14mm thick. It’s in outstanding cosmetic condition for its age. There are some very minor scratches on the case, but nothing significant at all, and the crystal is also in great shape. The dial and hands are flawless. The movement is keeping good time and the chronograph is functioning perfectly. Everything is original to the watch except for the strap and buckle. Milanese mesh not included in the sale I’m happy to answer any questions you may have, but please ask them BEFORE you bid and/or buy the watch. Vintage Omega Seamaster Pre Bond Boxed in Almost Mint Condition. Omega Seamaster Pre Bond(1989-1990)two tone with it's 18K gold bezel,boxed and in very nearly mint condition.396 1062. Case is 38mm in diameter and in mint condition. Gold crown in mint condition. Crystal is in mint condition. Bezel is black encased with 18K gold and in stunning condition.Bezel clicks very nicely and rotates as it should. Stunning black dial with cream and gold marker/baton's,again in mint condition. The gold hands are showing some signs of wear but are still very good.(I can only see this using a magnifying glass)     slight scratch left of OMEGA sign on bracelet Bracelet is two tone gold and steel in colour and almost mint,bracelet is a good size about 200mm in diameter.However there are a few signs of wear at the famous double clasp This is a wonderful example of this vintage watch and is keeping accurate time and still looks the business.

This is in incredible condition with a beautiful patina - have a look at the pictures to see for yourself. It works perfectly keeping good time with excellent power reserve. The crown is firm and responsive, winding the watch to full capacity within around 20 winds. The dial measures 36mm without the crown. The lug width is 19mm (I wore it on a 20m strap). It's currently on a nice random leather strap from my bag of nice random leather straps, but put it on your favourite to really make it your own - it looks good on a variety of strap colours and styles. All in all this is a fantastic 79 year old vintage watch that is big enough to wear nowadays and functions as if it just came out of the factory in Switzerland - a superb example.
