Electronic parts have been upgraded by Roger West himself to Toroid 2 level one month ago. I've made a custom wood frame to accomodate new transformers (which are too big to get inside the original frame). Speaker's impendance has been raised as well.   This is the only pair of A3 upgraded to Toroid 2 level worldwide (as Toroid 2 upgrade has never been made before for A3 speakers). New toroidal transformers and higher sensibility make them easy to drive with any decent amplifier. So, this particular pair of A3 is not only in a virtualy new condition, they also sound better than new. The sound can be described by one word only: glorious !  I have compared Soundlab A3 to Quad ESL 2912 and Stax ELS 8X in my room. Soundlab are MUCH better in every possible way. They have completely different sound dispersion pattern, which makes them sound more lively, more organic, more life-like, and more dynamic. They will create in your room a spectacular gigantic immersion-space, much bigger and more lively than any other speaker regardless of the price. As standard it features all of the original TB-303 controls, and also has an external audio input through the filter and VCA. Overlapping midi notes gives you that essential 303 note slide, and any midi note with a velocity of 120 or more will trigger the note accent. Realistically if this synth was programmed correctly, you would be VERY hard pressed to distinguish between this unit and a real 303 in a mix. In a side by side comparison i'd say it sounds a little meatier than the Behringer TD3, with a little more girth and analogue weight to the sound. We have modded this machine with our circuitbenders Acid FM mods to give a huge range of extra sounds, without diluting the essential TB-303 character. MODS INCLUDE: VCO On/Off Switch: Normally when you plug a jack into the external VCF input, the MB33's VCO is automatically removed from the mix. As there may be occasions where you don't want this to happen, or situations such as when you're using the filter lock mod (see below) when you want to be able to turn the VCO on and off yourself, we've added a switch to add manual control of this. VCO Drive: The MB33 retro seems to be designed to slightly distort the output stage at full volume, much like the TB303 did. The Drive mod boosts this distortion savagely for some grungy acid techno sounds. This mod increases the maximum amount of distortion at maximum volume. This means you can run a sound through the filter section, but also use that sound to modulate the filter cutoff at audio frequencies at the same time. The second source is a new FM input jack on the right hand side of the case. Using this source allows you to run a sound through the filter from the VCF input or just use the internal VCO, and at the same time modulate the filter cutoff with an entirely independent sound source at the FM in jack. A classic synth, which thanks also to the large number of extra sounds available on Roland  expansion boards, delivers amazing power and variety.  The U-series uses a type of synthesis called RS-PCM - which stands for ReSynthesized Pulse Code Modulation, and it's Roland's 2nd generation sampling technique. ROLAND U-110 Midi PCM Sound Expander Vintage 80´s Sound  The U-110 is a basic rack-mount sound module consisting of acoustic-oriented PCM samples with preset settings, limited flexibility, and boring late eighties sounds. It's nothing to get excited about. It has 2MB of ROM-based sampled sounds, none of which sound great. The U-110 is fairly noisy as well. Its palette of sounds could be grossly expanded with up to four expansion cards, but good luck finding those today! The U-110's biggest distinction, really, is that it was Roland's first totally digital sample-based synth. At the time, that was a break-through - look at all the realistic sounds you get in a single rack space MIDI module! Nowadays, it's hard to wonder why anybody would want one of these. The U-110 was available in a prototype form as the T-110. But the U-110 was soon replaced by the U-20 keyboard and U-220 module. Astral Projection used a U-110 before they switched to the U-220. Technics SH-GE90 DSP - Equalizer - Digital Sound Processor. Hi, I'm selling this Technics DSP because I have no use for it anymore. It's a Technics SH-GE90 Digital Sound Processor. The unit has some scratches due to usage and storage, especially on the plastic parts. There's some paint missing at the back of the unit (see pictures). The DSP display flickers slightly. This is a typical fault of this unit, which can easily be remedied by replacing a dry capacitor. You can find information about this in the net. The audio functions are not affected by this. I'm not good at soldering, I don't want to damage it by trying to repair it. It has never been serviced. The unit is sold with a power cord. I'll send the unit using the UPS standard service, sorry for the high shipping cost. I never had any issues shipping fragile items with them and I don't want the unit damaged because I've used another service. The unit will be well protected and all moving parts will be secured. The shipping costs takes into account the packaging itself I have to provide and the fact that I have to drive 60km, round trip, to go to the nearest UPS Access Point. Instead the gate for the SDDS audio is opened so that the SDDS audio is routed to the power amplifiers and speakers. As soon as the SDDS data stream stops, the DFP-2000 will switch back to the bypass inputs. This state is referred to as "soft bypass" to distinguish it from the state, where the operator actively presses the bypass button on the front panel, forcing the DFP-2000 to "hard bypass".
