While much of the album follows the atmospheric norm of Eno's own Soundtracks series (after which this project was named), there are a number of traditional "songs" interspersed between the synthetic canvases, and most of these are softer extensions on the ZOOROPA aesthetic. "Slug" finds Bono whispering wishes over tension-filled keyboard washes and layers of rhythm. "Your Blue Room," a relaxed kin to "One" and "The Unforgettable Fire," is U2 playing Tindersticks--full of menacing organ, faint, Duane Eddy-like guitar, and starring Larry Mullen, Jr. as a Euro Funky Drummer. Finest among these surreal moves is "Miss Sarajevo," which uses Luciano Pavarotti's tenor as a voice of empowered grief in the melancholy story of a war-torn beauty contest. When ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACKS 1 moves outward, it flies in the direction of the nearest rave--adding world-wide rhythms to Eno's ambient soundscapes, to form a compass of emotions. "United Colours" is a straight-up techno track with passing samples of scratched records, fly-by vehicles and looped voices. "One Minute Warning" is an eerie alarm, complete with African and electronic beats, a machine-gun ticker-tape pulse, and an incomprehensible Eno-led choir seemingly ushering in the apocalypse. The album ends with a mixture of the two explored worlds: "Theme From Let's Go Native" is a bit of tribal rockisms, led by a stray dub bassline and Edge's simple chords. Minchiate était un jeu de cartes de la fin du Moyen Âge utilisant un jeu spécialement étendu de 97 cartes, lié au Tarot mais comprenant 12 signes du zodiaque, 4 vertus (foi, espérance, charité, prudence) et 4 éléments (feu, eau, air, terre). Certains chercheurs pensent que ces cartes auraient pu servir de supports pédagogiques, car plusieurs allégories d'atouts (Vertus, Éléments, Signes du zodiaque) appartiennent à des catégories sur lesquelles reposait l'apprentissage classique à cette époque. Ces belles cartes sont faites à la main et ont un aspect et une sensation élégants du vieux monde. Les voitures ont une finition semi-brillante avec des coins carrés. The “Minchiate Etruria” deck was originally published in Florence around 1725, printed from copper plate etchings and hand coloured with water colours. Minchiate was a late-medieval card game employing a specially extended pack of 97 cards, related to Tarot but including 12 zodiac signs, 4 virtues (faith, hope, charity, prudence) and 4 elements (fire, water, air, earth). Some scholars believe that these cards may have served as teaching aids, because several trump allegories (Virtues, Elements, Zodiac signs) belong to categories upon which classical learning was based at that time. These beautiful cards are handmade and have an elegant old world look and feel. The cars have a semi gloss finish with square corners. The decks come packaged in a sturdy 2 part box with the sun card affixed on the top with the makers wax seal. Often rumored but rarely seen, Mint should never be used as a grade unless more than one person agrees that the record or sleeve truly is in this condition. *Note: I almost never use MINT grade, I think it should only be used for perfect new sealed records or perfect b'"'still in shrinkb'"' records. I could occasionally use a conservative grade of [M-] (MINT-) to describe perfect records not new sealed or not b'"'still in shrinkb'"'. NEAR MINT (NM) A good description of a NM record is “it looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time.” In other words, it’s nearly perfect. Many dealers won’t use a grade higher than this, implying (perhaps correctly) that no record or sleeve is ever truly perfect. NM records are shiny, with no visible defects. Writing, stickers or other markings cannot appear on the label, nor can any “spindle marks” from someone trying to blindly put the record on the turntable. Major factory defects also must be absent; a record and label obviously pressed off center is not Near Mint. If played, it will do so with no surface noise. (NM records don’t have to be “never played”; a record used on an excellent turntable can remain NM after many plays if the disc is properly cared for.) NM covers are free of creases, ring wear and seam splits of any kind. Note: Sometimes I can add an additional conservative grade of [NM-] or [VG++] to this guide to describe records just under [NM] or b'"'almost [NM] perfect with a few minor flawsb'"'. VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) / EXCELLENT A good description of a VG+ record is “except for a couple minor things, this would be Near Mint.” Most collectors, especially those who want to play their records, will be happy with a VG+ record, especially if it toward the high end of the grade (sometimes called VG++). VG+ records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated playing has not misshapen the hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. VG+ covers should have only minor wear. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than one inch long) at the bottom, the most vulnerable location. Also, a VG+ cover may have some defacing, such as a cut-out marking. THE ORNETTE COLEMAN DOUBLE QUARTET FREE JAZZ - Atlantic SD 1364  MONO 1961 VG++. État : Occasion  - Used Avec GATEFOLD ETAT / CONDITION Pour le vinyl, VG++ soit très bon état du disque qui joue parfaitement, très dynamique avec puissance, relief, etc... avec très peu de bruits de fond, tels que crépitements qui peuvent etre cependant faiblement perceptibles dans les plages calmes. Présence de deux fines griffures assez longues, (trace du saphir) face 1 et 2, qui sont sans consequence sur la qualité audio et imperceptibles à l'écoute. Le disque est nettoyé. La pochette est G - VG avec décollement de la pellicule sur l'arrière et au bord de l'ouverture. Elle a été recollée mais taches de colle visibles (voir photo). Ttace d'ancien adhesif sur le devant et la tranche. Le texte sur tranche est encore bien lisible.  Diverses petites taches interieures (roussures)  dans le gatefold. Traces d'humidité ancienne (seches maintenant) dans les deux coins inferieurs droits. En résumé la pochette présente des traces d'usures importantes, ce qui semble en partie logique vue son âge (ce n'est pas une copie quasi neuve) Pochette intérieure Atlantic, vrai original en état moyen. (usure au bord de l'ouverture) A noter et c'est important que la pochette est celle prévue pour le stereo. Cependant deux stickers ou est inscrit " MONO" sont collés sur l'arrière de la pochette (voir photo). Egalement gros sticker " barclay en direct des USA distribution exclusive". On peut en deduire que Barclays et Atlantic ont pu etre à cours de pochette mono pour l'export du mono et qu'ils ont utilisés des pochettes stereo en dépannage...Quoiqu'il en soit le disque est bien mono avec les bons numeros sur le runout(voir paragraphe du dessous) Vinyl Record: VG ++, plays excellent, great audio with a few light crackling at some point, in the quiet passage The sleeve is G, VG with  wear large enough, small stains inside the gotefold, wear at the corners...glue stain marks on the back, etc (see pictures) Original Atlantic inner sleeve in about VG conditions(wear on the opening of the inner sleeve) Please, note an official Special stickers " mono" glued on the back. The sleeve is a stereo sleeve, however the record is well a mono..(numbers on runout) imported from US by Barclay (see sticker inside gatefold) may be the correct sleeve (mono) wasn't available at this time and Barclays - Atlantixc have furnished a stereo sleeve. That's interesting, indeed this freejazz record has knew a great succes at the departure and mono sleeve could be missing....  -------------------------------------------------------------- Notes FREE JAZZ was recorded in one uninterrupted "take" of 36 minutes 23 seconds. This performance by Ornette Coleman's Double Quartet is heard exactly as it was performed in the studio, without any splicing or editing. Side One ends with a quick fade-out, and the music resumes with a minimum of interruption on Side Two. On stereo Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, Scott LaFaro and Billy Higgins are heard on the left channel, Eric Dolphy, Freddie Hubbard, Charlie Haden and Ed Blackwell are heard right. This is an ultra rare Chip Hazard statue made with cold cast porcelain from the Japanese company SoftGarage. This statue stands approximately 12 inches tall and was molded directly from the master molds used to create the original puppets, this piece is a collector’s dream. The statue has amazing details, and the paint job is simply stunning, capturing every nuance of the character. With the base included, it weighs nearly 3kg, giving it a substantial presence. It comes with the original box, and the cardboard outter box (both are a bit damaged with time, but present). It will be safely sent inside an additional generic cardboard box. This statue is as close as you can get from owning an actual prop from the movie. The statue is in great shape considering it’s from 1998. There are slight paint rubbings in some parts that I have shown in the pictures. Please also note that the dog tags are not the original ones that came with the statue.
