Audeze LCD-MX4 Headphones. In order to finance the purchase of GENELEC studio monitors, I'm letting go of my Audeze LCD-MX4 headphones. They are sold just like I purchased them: with all their accessories, in their pelican carrying case and in their cardboard box. They are in excellent condition: they work flawlessly and show only inevitable, superficial signs of use, as depicted in my photos. They were used in rotation with other headphones and with a custom made XLR cable. The cable is therefore like new, as is the leather headband, which I recently replaced. If the T90 are too expensive, get them anyway! The Prime is a linear tuned unit and I find the bass to be perfect (and that’s an understatement) with the Audeze and Hifiman headphones but more on those later. The Prime’s mids are slightly more forward sounding, especially the vocals, but they are not bright. Don’t get me wrong on that because they sound incredibly good: perfect separation, great timbre, heaps of detail but never over-analytical and always musical and dynamic. Treble is extended and detailed but never harsh sounding. I do like my treble and the Prime does a splendid job for my taste. Treble is on the same level as the mids and bass: clarity, detail and sparkle. The Prime’s sound stage is wide and deep with a perfect balance and 3-dimensionality. I fell in love with the Prime’s sound as a DAC/Amp unit. Marantz PM4 An excellent amp in very good condition and full working order.  Performs according to specs. This has been tested on a Audio Precision tester (see images of THD + Freq. response). Built in the the 80s in class A mode it's truly amazing with Living Voice and similarly efficient speakers only 15 watts in class A so wont drive hard loads or inefficient speakers to ear splitting levels but can be put into class a b mode for 60 watts. This one has been recapped with Silmic 2 Caps and had new modern binding posts fitted by Deco Audio around 3 years ago. The volume control works 100% no crackles hisses etc but it does require to be handled with care as it was rebuilt again by Deco Audio rather than replacing it. Its a truly epic performer in Class A mode with real grunt allied to a well balanced and resolved sound that is not fatiguing. This amp will outperform many far more expensive amps. The Lavardin IT at 6k shown below it is what i had to spend to replace it it's that good.
