Bruce Springteen streets of philadelphia 12" Picture disc rare !!! "Streets of Philadelphia" is a song written and performed by American rock musician Bruce Springsteen for the film Philadelphia (1993) starring Tom Hanks, an early mainstream film dealing with HIV/AIDS. Released as a single in 1994, the song was a hit in many countries, particularly in Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, and Norway, where it topped the singles charts. In the United States, the single peaked at number nine on the Billboard Hot 100. The song received acclaim and went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song and four Grammy Awards: Song of the Year, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Vocal Performance, Solo, and Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television. In 2004, it finished at number 68 on AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs survey of top tunes in American cinema. The song is listed among the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll. In early 1993, Philadelphia director Jonathan Demme asked Springsteen to write a song for his film, adding "I want it to play in the malls." Springsteen replied, "Well, I'm interested, so I'd like to come up with a song for you. If you give me some time, I'll see, but I can't promise." Springsteen recalled adding, "I'm not very good at scores". In late August, after the conclusion of the "Other Band" Tour, he recorded a demo of his completed song at Thrill Hill Recording, Beverly Hills, California (his home studio), supplying all of the instrumentation. He mailed the tape to Demme, who later said, "my wife and I sat down and listened to it, and we were literally weeping by the end". Meanwhile, background vocals were added by Tommy Sims (from the "Other Band"). In October, Springsteen recorded it at A&M Studios in Los Angeles, with Sims, Ornette Coleman on saxophone, and vocals by "Little" Jimmy Scott. It was mixed by Bob Clearmountain, included in the soundtrack, and the video was shot. However, in mid-December, Springsteen suddenly replaced it with his home demo from August, re-shooting some video scenes to eliminate Scott. The four-man combo version can be heard in a brief scene in the film when Tom Hanks exits Denzel Washington's office, but it was Bruce alone playing over the opening credits. "Streets of Philadelphia" was released on February 2, 1994, as the first single from the film's original soundtrack, with Springsteen singing and playing all the instruments and Tommy Sims on background vocals, and became a chart success worldwide. "Streets of Philadelphia" achieved greater popularity in Europe than in the United States. Yes, this album is one of the most sought-after garage psych and pop LPs in the world, period. For good reason, The Dynamites were one of the best GS bands in Japan. From 1967 to 1969, they released only one LP and a handful of singles, all very coveted. This copy is a rare reissue from the late eighties, it contains the same track listing as their first LP ranging from R&B, soul, garage and psych numbers. A must-have! État : "Bon état" to read absolutely before bidding !!!: this album was released on february 17 1975 in australia so he is 46 years old! it is not a first hand, it has two qualities of exceptions which is worth to be interested in it especially for collectors of vinyls of ac / dc like me and I am asser stalled in this field,  and also unfortunately some three bad points or even four if you count the cover; I will explain to you to start on the state of the vinyl and the cover: the cover on the front and back is appreciable see the photos,  but on each side: in the sleeve an opening of 6 to 7 cm is on the three junction sides so to stay in the real no adding tape,  but is delivered with a pvc protection that keeps everything stable, vinyl level, listen to headphones: the first track side 1;  "baby please don't go" between 13 seconds and 20 seconds from the start shows two minimal jerks barely susceptible and which does not prevent the smooth unwinding of the vinyl, on side 2 "soul tripper" a minimal jerk in the second minute and to conclude another jolt during "show business" halfway through  the track and of course not susceptible: and does not prevent  the smooth running of the vinyl, otherwise all the rest of  the album is masterful, a fucking his ! I would like to point out,  listen to a technics sl 3300 and Tracking force of 1.75 grams (important!) Now we will get into the subject, this vinyl has the particularity of having the roo logo only on side 2 and for explanation:  First pressing with Blue center labels & kangaroo. Track A1 is credited to Broonzy on back sleeve and center labels. Later copies had the side one label changed to correct an error in the writing credit for "Baby Please Don't Go". It was incorrectly credited to Broonzy, but was actually written by Joe Williams - The matrix number is the same, and the label still carries the Blue Roo,  that is used by Alberts, to signify an original Alberts issue. Track A1 is still credited to Broonzy on the back of the sleeve,  but Joe Williams is now credited on the side one label. (these are a lot less common than Broonzy -  at a rate of around Three Broonzy to one Joe Williams, which is also a good indicator that this is not a different issue). AND HAS NOTICEABLE SURFACE MARKS SO GRADED IN GOOD + CONDITION. NOTE WE GRADE ALL OUR RECORDS AS PER RECORD COLLECTOR RARE RECORD PRICE GUIDE ! Notes Blue center labels & kangaroo logo on side B. This is a later label variant which has had the track A1 writing credit corrected from Broonzy to Joe Williams. A1 is still credited on the back sleeve to Broonzy.
