Fully restored Sony WM-D3 It is in fully working order and fully serviced This particular early version of the D3 series Walkman has a unique double door locking system that is very different from all other late versions. It provides a very firm locking of the door and thus the door will not open during playback or recording unlike all other D3 and DD series. Originally the early versions of the D3 series were designed to be used mostly by journalists who needed a solid and reliable device which allowed the cassette compartment to stay well closed. But later Sony abandoned this system due to high production costs. The Walkman was completely disassembled, cleaned from old oil and grease and re-lubricated. Center gear, capstan ring rubber, counter belt and RWD reel gear have been replaced with new parts.
