All armies involved in the battle suffered immeasurably for what they believed in, and the human cost and brutality described during the battle and its aftermath is breath-taking. Craig also did an unbelievable job of gathering first-hand accounts from the survivors to put the reader directly on the front lines. To learn the whole truth about this tragedy of WWII history I highly recommend this book.
