This is a 5 piece 8.75 Carat total lot of small or thin Lightning Ridge Black /Semi-black and Crystal Opal Rough. Theses are odd shaped or have sand or uneven potch sections. Note-the first picture is of the stones in water.  The green crystal will cut a nice gem for sure, the others may be more for faceting or wire wrap projects or specimens.   These have very nice crystal opal/black opal colors but are very small and might be best for someone who can polish or facet small stones. As they are raw opal, some pieces do have sand or potch sections.  The pictures are of the stones shown wet and macro close ups pics under LED light to bring out possible color potential when polished. (NOTE: these are on a black background and that brings out the bright color glow in the stones when wet) The pieces range in size from as small as 7mm wide up to as large as 12mm across. Thickness is as small as 3mm up to 5.5mm thick. (the ruler in the pictures is in Millimeters). As shown in the pictures, pieces have sand or potch sections. Please read notes and see all pictures This is a single piece of Lightning Ridge Opal Rough with a thin but brilliant Black Opal layer going into one section of the stone. (The gem section has lines that flash gold and red, both colors that do not show up well in pictures)  This is being sold as a specimen for a collector interested in the black opal. The stone is 12.9TCW but most of the weight is potch/sand behind the gem section. (It may be possible to hand polish the gem section) The entire piece is 20mm x 16mm x 9mm however the color section is 12mmx 6mmx2mm and wavy.  The pictures are close ups of the stone wet under LED light to highlight the interior color and sparkle. I rotated the stone and one of the pictures has a ruler in millimetres to show size.  As with any rough, no guarantees as to the quality of stone it may or may not cut. But when I shine a torch to it, the small gem section exhibits stunning colors. Hobby/practice cutting rubbed opal rough with many small bright colors thin crystal pieces- see notes   This is a 36 Carat total (7.2 gram) lot of small or thin Lightning Ridge (with some coober pedy) Crystal and Dark Opal Rough, opal rubs and rubbed rough opal pieces. Most all of these pieces have bright flashing sections or deep color, or offcut/rubbed sections exposing great color or bright flash.  These have very nice crystal opal/semi-black opal colors but, are very small or the exposed color / flash sections color lines are thin. others may have sand spots as seen in the pictures.  These might be best for someone who can polish or carve small stones. As they are raw opal, some pieces do have sand or potch sections.  The pictures are of the stones shown wet and some are macro close ups pics under LED light to show color potential when polished. (NOTE: these are on a black background and that brings out the bright color glow in the stones when wet) The pieces range in size from as small as 8mm wide up to as large as 25mm across. Thickness is as small as 2mm up to 6mm thick. (the ruler in the pictures is in Millimeters).. Many pieces have bright flashing or gem rainbow multi color.  These have very nice crystal opal colors but most are very small,  might be best for someone who want to do mosaic or facet small stones. As they are raw opal, some pieces do have sandstone or potch sections. Hard rubber French pen in a rare pattern of colors, grey/green/black mottling, button filler, Iripal nib, size capped 13 cm, nice condition however trace of use on cap’s clip. Stylo Français en ébonite dans un motif de couleur rare, marbré gris vert et noir. Alimentation par bouton poussoir, plume Iripal, longueur fermé 13 cm. Bel état avec néanmoins des traces d’usure sur le clip du capuchon.
