Speaker's impendance has been raised as well.   This is the only pair of A3 upgraded to Toroid 2 level worldwide (as Toroid 2 upgrade has never been made before for A3 speakers). New toroidal transformers and higher sensibility make them easy to drive with any decent amplifier. So, this particular pair of A3 is not only in a virtualy new condition, they also sound better than new. The motor's speed is electronically controlled by a quartz-crystal reference oscillator and a microprocessor. In addition, a second control loop measures the platter's speed with an optical sensor and corrects the motor speed as required to maintain the correct playing speed. Unlike almost all other currently available record players, the Dual CS 5000 operates at 78 rpm as well as 33% and 45 rpm. The tonearm of the CS 5000 is designed to minimize many of the recognized weaknesses of typical pivoted tonearms. It is supported by gimbal pivots for both axes of motion and operates at all times in a fully balanced state (the downward tracking force is supplied by a coiled spring). Dual points out that the arm-support system eliminates any need for critical leveling of the turntable, which can in theory be operated at almost any angle to the horizontal. Another potential problem, warp wow, is a common result of playing a warped record with a tonearm whose vertical pivot is located above the record's plane. The combination causes a periodic fore-to-aft shift of the stylus as the arm travels over the warp and superimposes a frequency modulation (wow) on the program. The Dual CS 5000's tonearm has its vertical pivot in the plane of the record, which reduces warp wow to its lowest possible level. The slim, tubular-aluminum tonearm has a removeable head-shell featuring Dual's adjustable vertical tracking angle (VTA). The cartridge can be tilted by a knob on top of the shell, varying the VTA over a ± 5-degree range. A critical listener can do this by ear, and Dual also recommends VTA settings for a number of popular cartridges. The tracking-force and antiskating controls are on the tonearm's pivot structure, near the arm rest and cueing-lift lever. Most turntables, including the CS 5000, have platters that are designed to concentrate their mass around the outer edge, where it contributes the most to the inertia of the system. These platters resemble a shallow bell, and they usually ring like one when struck or otherwise excited mechanically, a characteristic that can color or muddy the reproduced sound. The MP 2500 R has the same overall design philosophy and technical facilities like the smaller MP 2000 R MK II player. Both have been developed to reproduce high-res audio files without any trace of compromise. Instead of a CD mechanism T+A have equipped the MP 2500 R with the SACD drive from T+A's High-End SACD player MP 3100 HV which is a completely new development.  As in the MP 2000 R MK II, PCM data is converted using T+A's outstanding double differential quadruple converter with all it‘s sophisticated digital signal processing. DSD data are handled by the unique analogue T+A true 1-bit DSD converter from the PDP 3000 HV, which processes the DSD data in native form as a bitstream rather than converting them. This makes it possible to reproduce DSD data up to DSD 512, as delivered by the USB input of the digital connecting board, to the highest level of quality.  The machine’s streaming client takes the form of the new T+A high-res streaming board, which provides maximum resolution as well as the facility to access various music services, Internet radio, inclusion in the home network via LAN and WLAN, USB Master Mode and HD streaming from network servers. The digital tuner offers FM, FM-HD and DAB+ capability, and delivers excellent sound. T+A have invested a huge amount of effort in the mechanical design of the drive unit, incorporating a high-quality drive, double laser optics and heavy-duty motors. With the aim of eliminating all traces of interaction between the moving parts of the disc drive and the remainder of the player T+A's disc mechanism features a mechanical isolation. A heavy aluminium plate and a solid case, which act as a mass damping devices, thereby preventing any structural sound from the mounting surface finding its way to the electronics and the disc mechanism.
