And what most of my friends said: "can you build one for me ?" Call that a market study... Why do audiophiles do not like the sound of current oversampling DACs ? Oversampling DACs are textbook correct, right ? So they should sound perfect, no ? Well... While it is true that oversampling DACs are textbook correct, if you make the wrong assumptions about the human hearing system, you may end up making mistakes, even if you do the math right ! Let me give you a simple example: it is generally assumed we hear the spectrum of sounds, but can't hear the phase. Now try "binaural beats" on Google and listen for yourself. These clearly show the phase information IS sensed, AND remains present far inside the brain. So maybe the spectrum-only approach to DAC design is not telling the whole story... Little jewel, one of the greatest headphones amplifiers ever, extremely rare on sale, in perfect working condition and aesthetics, almost like new. Trully impressive, addicting sound. This is a headphone preamp for ribbon headphones and more specifically the Raal SR1a ribbon headphones. It sounds amazing, it sounded better than my Hypex ncore amplifier with the amp adaptor box.  i'm selling it since unfortunately I had to sell the headphones. It is still under warranty and in mint condition, very lightly used (10-15hours) in a mastering studio. The Schiit Jotunheim-R was bought new in march 2020 directly from Schiit. Hi, i'm selling a mint RAAL SR-1A ribbon headphone with all original accessories, cables and amp adaptor box, sold along a Schiit Jotunheim-R preamp with internal DAC. Both are included in the sale. They are both in mint condition and still under warranty, very lightly used (10-15hours) in a mastering studio. Raal SR1A was bought new Jan 2020 and Schiit Jotunheim-R was bought new in march 2020. The  Schiit Jotunheim-R is 230volt european voltage, with internal multibit dac. Value new was over 5300euros including import fees. They are located in my studio in Paris, France.
