Rare ! 1°)  Martika Après un premier album Martika vendu à plus de quatre millions grâce à son plus grand succès Toy Soldiers, chanson arrivée numéro un dans les palmarès américains, et dont le refrain fut utilisé comme échantillon pour le single Like Toy Soldiers d'Eminem. Tracklisting: photos 2, 3, 5 2°) Martika's Kitchen est son second album. The album contained four tracks with writing and production input by Prince: Martika's Kitchen, Spirit, Love... Thy Will Be Done and Don't Say U Love Me.. Prince became involved after Martika had already recorded most of the album. She had seen the Graffiti Bridge movie several times and had contacted Prince saying the movie spoke to her and reflected things she had written in her own notebook. He recorded and submitted Love... Thy Will Be Done in December 1990, and Martika loved what she heard; her record company encouraged her to work further with Prince, and he quickly recorded further tracks. Martika's Kitchen, Spirit and Don't Say U Love Me were recorded in December 1990, or January 1991. Martika simply replaced Prince's vocals with her own in early 1991 (adding some additional lyrics, resulting in her co-writing credit), and additional instrumentation and background vocals were recorded by her musicians in New York. 1. After studying the cello and the trombone at the Paris Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique he went on to play in a number of Big Bands. In the 1960s he accompanied Marlene Dietrich, Nat King Cole, Sammy Davis and Charles Aznavour, and in 1970 added the tuba, working as a studio musician and recording with Michel Legrand, Vladimir Cosma, Michel Colombier and others. From 1973 to 1983 he accompanied Claude Nougaro with Eddie Louiss and Maurice Vander, and played in the orchestras of Martial Solal, Michel Portal and others.  In 1981 he formed his own group, the "Steckar Tubapack", and his first recording in 1982 won the Prix Boris Vian, awarded by the Académie de Jazz. Marc Steckar has recorded over twenty discs using the tuba and in 1990 he started to mix the tuba with other ensembles, big bands, brass bands, wind bands, and choirs. In 1994 he composed several concertos for tuba, euphoniums and trombones and in 1999 received the Sacem Prix Printemps. I have shipped hundreds of discs and have never encountered any problems. Here is my method. I take the disc (with its under-cover) out of its cardboard cover, because otherwise the disc can move and make holes in the cover (experienced as a buyer). Then I add 3 layers of protection: 1. plastic pouch like the one you find at a record store. 2. bubble wrap with shims to ensure the gap with the 3rd level. 3. high quality fluted cardboard, very rigid, with the mention "fragile"

*** 4 Classic GOON SHOWs from BBC Transcription Service *** Talking about the influence of The Goon Shows on the British comedy that followed it, The Wikipedia entry states: - Eddie Izzard notes that the Goons and Milligan in particular b'"'influenced a new generation of comedians who came to be known as 'alternative'.b'"' John Cleese [of Monty Python fame] notes that b'"'In comedy, there are a very small number of defining moments when somebody comes along and genuinely creates a breakthrough, takes us into territory where nobody has been before. The only experiences to which I can compare my own discovery of the Goons are going to see N. F. Simpson's play One Way Pendulum... or, later on, hearing Peter Cook for the first time. They were just light years ahead of everyone else.b'"' These four vintage episodes come from the middle of the show's life run and were recorded in November and December 1956. BBC Transcription Service disks of the shows were distributed throughout the Commonwealth the follow year and were later released in the USA. In all there were over 240 Goon Shows, most written entirely by Spike Milligan, an amazing output. These two disks are not in the best condition and do have some surface noise, Nonetheless, a lot of pleasure and fun can be had from listening to them and what Goon Fan wouldn't want to own them? (NOTE: These disks have been spot-checked for condition.) The Episode titles are: - 99 - The Jet-Propelled Guided Naafi (27' 41b'"') - 100 - The Nadger Plague (28' 27b'"') - 101 - The Great Bank Robbery (28' 03b'"') - 102 - What's My Line? (28' 02b'"') The BBC Transcription Service pioneered full-range high fidelity recording in the BBC and was the first to regularly record in stereo and quadraphonically; it pioneered using Dolby A noise reduction. BBC Transcription Service records had short print runs, usually around 100 discs, and most copies were destroyed after broadcasting rights expired. This rare example was obtained directly from the BBC TS's own undistributed stock. These limited edition LPs include the original BBC TS cover. The founder of the dynasty was Anatoly’s grandfather, conductor Nikolai Lyadov (1777-1839). Anatoly’s father Konstantin Lyadov (1820-1871) was the chapel master of the orchestra of the Imperial Russian Opera, and a composer. His mother Ekaterina, nee Antipova, died when the boy was six years old. Anatoly was surrounded by music from his childhood. The abilities and social position of his father predetermined the lines of his education, and in 1870 he was admitted to the St. Petersburg Conservatory as a free student under a scholarship named after his father. Ludolf Bakhuizen (ou Backhuysen), peintre néerlandais né le 28 décembre 1630 dans la ville d'Emden, dans le comté de Frise orientale, et mort le 17 novembre 1708.  Il travailla sous la tutelle d'Allaert van Everdingen puis sous celle d'Hendrik Dubbels et devint très rapidement célèbre pour ses peintures largement inspirées par le monde marin. Au long de sa vie, il se rendit auprès de nombreux souverains et grands d'Europe, comme Cosme III de Médicis ou Pierre Ier de Russie. En 1699, il ouvrit sa propre galerie à Amsterdam, exposant ses œuvres ou celles de jeunes artistes. Amoureux de la mer et de la nature, il s’efforce de rendre le plus réaliste possible ses peintures, allant au maximum des reflets de l'eau ou par exemple, des percées du soleil à travers les nuages. Durant les dernières années de sa vie, il s'exerça aux eaux-fortes et à la calligraphie.
