I have shipped hundreds of discs and have never encountered any problems. Here is my method. I take the disc (with its under-cover) out of its cardboard cover, because otherwise the disc can move and make holes in the cover (experienced as a buyer). Then I add 3 layers of protection: 1. plastic pouch like the one you find at a record store. 2. bubble wrap with shims to ensure the gap with the 3rd level. 3. high quality fluted cardboard, very rigid, with the mention "fragile"

VERY RARE FRENCH CD RELEASED IN 2007. DON'T MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO GRAB IT. REALLY A GREAT ALBUM OF ONE OF THE MOST TALENTED FRENCH BEBOP PIANIST. FOR CONNOISSEURS & LUDOVIC DE PREISSAC FANS ONLY ! conditions: CD & BOOKLET in NEAR MINT conditions. CD EN EXCELLENT ETAT PROCHE DU NEUF - LUDOVIC DE PREISSAC Piano - JEAN-CHRISTOPHE BÉNEY Saxophone - MICHAEL CHÉRET Saxophone - FABIEN MARY Trompette - MICKAEL JOUSSEIN Trombone - MANUEL MARCHÉS Contrebasse - ANDRÉA MICHELUTTI Batterie Ludovic De Preissac Septet: Retrouvailles Pianist Ludovic de Preissac's new record reminds me why I fell in love with jazz in the first place; in both a very general and specific sense. Generally, in the sense that Retrouvailles evinces, from beginning to end, that paradoxical mixture of solidarity in the pursuit of a collective goal, together with competitive individual excellence that makes jazz great. There is unstinting excellence and unflagging attention to detail; all the while knowing that no one is likely to get rich from this record, or this music, even though they really should. Specifically, because like many listeners of my advanced age, I fell in love with the music via a sound similar to Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers—those little big bands (or are they large small ensembles?)— that mix genuine funk with elegant sophistication, delivered by exquisitely arranged multi-horn line-ups. De Preissac clearly draws on this inspiration as well. The expertly navigated changes in meter and tempo are right out of the Wayne Shorter-era Jazz Messengers. The always subtly surprising tonal colors in de Preissac's arrangements recall the arranging work of his compatriot, flautist Christophe dal Sasso's Exploration (Nocturne, 2006). There are further parallels. Drummer Andréa Michelutti, like Blakey, favors the booming lower range of his kit. De Preissac, for his part, calls to mind some of the best qualities of the playing of various Jazz Messengers pianists (Horace Silver, Bobby Timmons, Cedar Walton, Mulgrew Miller): a round, gospel-tinged sound, a slight florid tendency to the baroque, all the better to be heard over and between the large-ish ensemble. In de Preissac's case, these characteristics are overlaid with classical elements as well (as on his solo on "Minor's Mood"). As a brief cross-section of the players' strengths, listen to the sequence of short solos on "Jungleblues," which sounds for all the world like a Jazz Messengers show closer. Tenor saxophonist Jean-Christophe Béney is firmly in the tradition (though elsewhere on the record he favors ever so slightly "out" sonorities) and equally in control. As does trumpeter and composer Fabien Mary, who insistently splits the beats of his solos. For a bit of contrast, Michaël Chéret, on alto sax, heads for more angular territory, Eric Dolphy style, only to be followed by trombonist Mickaël Joussein's very cool sound on top of the rhythm. The leader takes a crystalline turn, followed by an arco episode from bassist Manuel Marchès and a brief trading of fours with drummer Michelutti. And that's not even the record's finest number. THE ORNETTE COLEMAN DOUBLE QUARTET FREE JAZZ - Atlantic SD 1364 MONO 1961 VG++. On peut en deduire que Barclays et Atlantic ont pu etre à cours de pochette mono pour l'export du mono et qu'ils ont utilisés des pochettes stereo en dépannage...Quoiqu'il en soit le disque est bien mono avec les bons numeros sur le runout(voir paragraphe du dessous) Vinyl Record: VG ++, plays excellent, great audio with a few light crackling at some point, in the quiet passage The sleeve is G, VG with wear large enough, small stains inside the gotefold, wear at the corners...glue stain marks on the back, etc (see pictures) Original Atlantic inner sleeve in about VG conditions(wear on the opening of the inner sleeve) Please, note an official Special stickers " mono" glued on the back. The sleeve is a stereo sleeve, however the record is well a mono..(numbers on runout) imported from US by Barclay (see sticker inside gatefold) may be the correct sleeve (mono) wasn't available at this time and Barclays - Atlantixc have furnished a stereo sleeve. That's interesting, indeed this freejazz record has knew a great succes at the departure and mono sleeve could be missing.... -------------------------------------------------------------- Notes FREE JAZZ was recorded in one uninterrupted "take" of 36 minutes 23 seconds. This performance by Ornette Coleman's Double Quartet is heard exactly as it was performed in the studio, without any splicing or editing. Side One ends with a quick fade-out, and the music resumes with a minimum of interruption on Side Two. On stereo Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, Scott LaFaro and Billy Higgins are heard on the left channel, Eric Dolphy, Freddie Hubbard, Charlie Haden and Ed Blackwell are heard right. Mono version with orange and purple vinyl label that features a "white fan logo" on a black background. Packaged in a heavy cardboard gatefold sleeve.
