Here we have a beautiful example of Nikon's iconic fast fifty. This is the "S·C" version, which as far as I know was only made in the pre-Ai F mount. This lens does have an Ai mount, so it was presumably modified at some point: the conversion is expertly done, perhaps by Nikon itself (I think you could send in your pre-AI lenses for modification for a while). It will now work with modern Nikon SLRs and DSLRs.  Anyway, this lens is in excellent condition. Glass is clean and clear, no fungus, no haze. There is a tiny mark on the rear element (visible in the second photo) but otherwise the glass appears pristine and unmarked. Iris blades are clean and snappy. Aperture selector moves nicely, focus is even. Includes original front and rear caps (the classy old Nippon Kogaku type that feel like bakelite) and the lens's HS-1 hood.  Be sure to check out my other sales. This is the early 8-element version of Pentax's screw-mount fast fifty, in good condition. Glass is clean and clear -- no fungus, no haze, no marks that I can see, just the usual internal dust. Focus is silky smooth across the range and the aperture ring clicks lightly and precisely at each stop, like all Super-Taks in good condition. Iris blades are clean and snappy. This nifty fifty has some fairly serious fungus on the inside of its front and rear elements, as well as a filter thread dent. This manual-focus fast fifty has some internal fungus on multiple elements. It should not have too much effect on performance but might decrease contrast in some situations. Otherwise, the lens is in good shape: smooth focus, precise aperture ring, snappy iris blades with no oil. Be sure to check out my other sales.
