Recently Serviced with original Nakamichi service tapes Vintage Nakamichi CR-4A. This tape deck has never been in contact with smoke or animals. This piece is in very good condition - just some faint marks due to the age here and there - the cover has just been painted, sounds amazing, and had very cool lights. Everything works like it should. This Nakamichi CR-4 is a stereo cassette deck with Dolby B and C noise reduction, it was first sold by Nakamichi in 1988 with a recommended retail price of USD $995 and discontinued 2 years later in 1990. The main features of the Nakamichi CR-4 are: 3 discrete heads and off-tape monitoring, digital tape counter with 4 digits and memory stop, manual tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome and metal tapes with additional manual equalization selection, dual capstan transport. Typical front loading cassette deck with the cassette compartiment located on the left side of the deck. Tape eject is operated mechanically and the cassette needs to be placed with the side to be played facing forward in the cassette well which is opened by a damped mechanism. Level meters used on the CR-4 are digital LED peak reading meters. Full-logic transport controls used on the CR-4 let it respond to the slightest finger contact for fast and effortless transport function selection. To ensure the best response from the wide variety of tapes available adjustment of, sensitivity, to optimum levels can be performed prior to recording.
