All the time the Sagem MyDual Radio700 is powered up even without a station selected the front screen will display a small top line of year, date and day with a large (four time the size) bottom line showing the time in 24 hour format. It is 20x10x14cm maximum, the right side is the larger being circular and the single speaker with a fine silver/grey mesh the rest of the unit is grey. The display is 7.3x3.5cm with white lettering on a blue background. Outputs on the back are for earbuds, liner out, Ethernet, FM aerial (supplied) and the power lead. There is a status LED that glows green but in most cases this will not even be seen and finally a push button on/off switch. Neither side or the bottom have any connections while the front has a USB stick socket between the LCD display and the speaker. This leaves the top this has a total of eight buttons, five arranged in the ubiquitous joystick combination and three others all clearly labelled. There is a 30 key remote control, however for most actions the eight buttons on top of the unit are all you need. The one exception I have found is entering your WEP or WPA code that needs the numeric (mobile phone type) input on the remote. It finds all the wireless networks in range you select the one you want and assuming it is encrypted then you enter your passcode. It remembers this so next time you return power to the unit although you need to move through the same screens and select the wireless network it then shows the passcode, here I think it should not display the actual code maybe just some dots as the passcode is there for anyone to see. Ethernet is simpler as it is just a matter of connecting an Ethernet cable between the unit and a router. There are literally thousands of Internet radio stations are these are split into Genres. The MP3 player works without problem and using it as a Media Server is logical. My one real gripe is your passcode being displayed anytime power is restored note I mean the back on/off switch and not the power switch on the top that is really only standby mode.

Overlapping midi notes gives you that essential 303 note slide, and any midi note with a velocity of 120 or more will trigger the note accent. Realistically if this synth was programmed correctly, you would be VERY hard pressed to distinguish between this unit and a real 303 in a mix. In a side by side comparison i'd say it sounds a little meatier than the Behringer TD3, with a little more girth and analogue weight to the sound. We have modded this machine with our circuitbenders Acid FM mods to give a huge range of extra sounds, without diluting the essential TB-303 character. MODS INCLUDE: VCO On/Off Switch: Normally when you plug a jack into the external VCF input, the MB33's VCO is automatically removed from the mix. As there may be occasions where you don't want this to happen, or situations such as when you're using the filter lock mod (see below) when you want to be able to turn the VCO on and off yourself, we've added a switch to add manual control of this. VCO Drive: The MB33 retro seems to be designed to slightly distort the output stage at full volume, much like the TB303 did. The Drive mod boosts this distortion savagely for some grungy acid techno sounds. This mod increases the maximum amount of distortion at maximum volume. This effect works best with the resonance cranked up into self oscillation which is where the resonance boost mod comes into play. The FM controls allow you to select one of four sources for the FM signal. The first is the normal filter input socket round the back. This means you can run a sound through the filter section, but also use that sound to modulate the filter cutoff at audio frequencies at the same time. The second source is a new FM input jack on the right hand side of the case. Using this source allows you to run a sound through the filter from the VCF input or just use the internal VCO, and at the same time modulate the filter cutoff with an entirely independent sound source at the FM in jack. The MP 2500 R has the same overall design philosophy and technical facilities like the smaller MP 2000 R MK II player. Both have been developed to reproduce high-res audio files without any trace of compromise. Instead of a CD mechanism T+A have equipped the MP 2500 R with the SACD drive from T+A's High-End SACD player MP 3100 HV which is a completely new development.  As in the MP 2000 R MK II, PCM data is converted using T+A's outstanding double differential quadruple converter with all it‘s sophisticated digital signal processing. DSD data are handled by the unique analogue T+A true 1-bit DSD converter from the PDP 3000 HV, which processes the DSD data in native form as a bitstream rather than converting them. This makes it possible to reproduce DSD data up to DSD 512, as delivered by the USB input of the digital connecting board, to the highest level of quality.  The machine’s streaming client takes the form of the new T+A high-res streaming board, which provides maximum resolution as well as the facility to access various music services, Internet radio, inclusion in the home network via LAN and WLAN, USB Master Mode and HD streaming from network servers. The digital tuner offers FM, FM-HD and DAB+ capability, and delivers excellent sound. T+A have invested a huge amount of effort in the mechanical design of the drive unit, incorporating a high-quality drive, double laser optics and heavy-duty motors. With the aim of eliminating all traces of interaction between the moving parts of the disc drive and the remainder of the player T+A's disc mechanism features a mechanical isolation.
