Four external ITS inputs are provided for insertion of externally generated test and data signals. All inputs are AC coupled and clamped. The VITS201 assumes the external input signals are locked to the program signal and correctly timed. Delete and pass functions are available for the same lines as the insert function. Program Channel Maintaining transparency and continuity of the program channel is a prime consideration in the VITS201. Distortions and transients are virtually eliminated by the Tektronix developed channel switch integrated circuit. Insertion or deletion of ITS can occur only when genlock to the program input signal is attained. Loss of mains power or genlock causes the program line to be bypassed. Program signal delay in operate and bypass is matched. The VITS201 provides for replacement of the program line sync and burst signals with the internally generated sync and burst signals. This ensures the proper amplitude relationship of the inserted ITS to the sync and burst signals is established prior to inputting the signal to the broadcast transmitter or transmission system. Timing of the active video to the blanking interval is not affected in the sync and burst regeneration mode. As standard it features all of the original TB-303 controls, and also has an external audio input through the filter and VCA. Overlapping midi notes gives you that essential 303 note slide, and any midi note with a velocity of 120 or more will trigger the note accent. Realistically if this synth was programmed correctly, you would be VERY hard pressed to distinguish between this unit and a real 303 in a mix. In a side by side comparison i'd say it sounds a little meatier than the Behringer TD3, with a little more girth and analogue weight to the sound. We have modded this machine with our circuitbenders Acid FM mods to give a huge range of extra sounds, without diluting the essential TB-303 character. MODS INCLUDE: VCO On/Off Switch: Normally when you plug a jack into the external VCF input, the MB33's VCO is automatically removed from the mix. As there may be occasions where you don't want this to happen, or situations such as when you're using the filter lock mod (see below) when you want to be able to turn the VCO on and off yourself, we've added a switch to add manual control of this. VCO Drive: The MB33 retro seems to be designed to slightly distort the output stage at full volume, much like the TB303 did. The Drive mod boosts this distortion savagely for some grungy acid techno sounds. This mod increases the maximum amount of distortion at maximum volume. The intensity of the distortion can be set using the normal volume knob. Resonance Boost Switch: An annoying issue with these machines is that the resonance never reaches self oscillation (but then neither did the TB303) and also drops off considerably when the cutoff is over 3/4 of the way up. We've solved this problem by adding the resonance boost switch. With this switch activated the filter starts to squeal with the resonance about halfway up, and then just screams with self oscillation at any higher settings. The resonance boost is especially effective when used with the VCF FM mods. VCF FM: Essentially VCF FM (Frequency Modulation) allows you to modulate the filter cutoff at audio frequencies to create all kinds of clanging cross modulation and bizarre alien splatters & sweeps. This effect works best with the resonance cranked up into self oscillation which is where the resonance boost mod comes into play. The FM controls allow you to select one of four sources for the FM signal. The first is the normal filter input socket round the back. Demo here: https://youtu.be/GSebDXf9rP4 Here are the specs: The MAM MB33 Retro is the latest version of the MB33 / FAT FREEBASS clone of the infamous Roland TB-303.  As standard it features all of the original TB-303 controls, and also has an external audio input through the filter and VCA. Overlapping midi notes gives you that essential 303 note slide, and any midi note with a velocity of 120 or more will trigger the note accent. Realistically if this synth was programmed correctly, you would be VERY hard pressed to distinguish between this unit and a real 303 in a mix. In a side by side comparison i'd say it sounds a little meatier than the Behringer TD3, with a little more girth and analogue weight to the sound. We have modded this machine with our circuitbenders Acid FM mods to give a huge range of extra sounds,  without diluting the essential TB-303 character.  MODS INCLUDE:  VCO On/Off Switch: Normally when you plug a jack into the external VCF input, the MB33's VCO is automatically removed from the mix. As there may be occasions where you don't want this to happen, or situations such as when you're using the filter lock mod (see below) when you want to be able to turn the VCO on and off yourself, we've added a switch to add manual control of this. VCO Drive: The MB33 retro seems to be designed to slightly distort the output stage at full volume, much like the TB303 did. The Drive mod boosts this distortion savagely for some grungy acid techno sounds. This mod increases the maximum amount of distortion at maximum volume. The intensity of the distortion can be set using the normal volume knob.  Resonance Boost Switch: An annoying issue with these machines is that the resonance never reaches self oscillation (but then neither did the TB303) and also drops off considerably when the cutoff is over 3/4 of the way up. We've solved this problem by adding the resonance boost switch. With this switch activated the filter starts to squeal with the resonance about halfway up, and then just screams with self oscillation at any higher settings. The resonance boost is especially effective when used with the VCF FM mods.  VCF FM: Essentially VCF FM (Frequency Modulation) allows you to modulate the filter cutoff at audio frequencies to create all kinds of clanging cross modulation and bizarre alien splatters & sweeps. This effect works best with the resonance cranked up into self oscillation which is where the resonance boost mod comes into play. The FM controls allow you to select one of four sources for the FM signal. The first is the normal filter input socket round the back. All the time the Sagem MyDual Radio700 is powered up even without a station selected the front screen will display a small top line of year, date and day with a large (four time the size) bottom line showing the time in 24 hour format. It is 20x10x14cm maximum, the right side is the larger being circular and the single speaker with a fine silver/grey mesh the rest of the unit is grey. The display is 7.3x3.5cm with white lettering on a blue background. Outputs on the back are for earbuds, liner out, Ethernet, FM aerial (supplied) and the power lead. There is a status LED that glows green but in most cases this will not even be seen and finally a push button on/off switch. Neither side or the bottom have any connections while the front has a USB stick socket between the LCD display and the speaker. This leaves the top this has a total of eight buttons, five arranged in the ubiquitous joystick combination and three others all clearly labelled. There is a 30 key remote control, however for most actions the eight buttons on top of the unit are all you need. The one exception I have found is entering your WEP or WPA code that needs the numeric (mobile phone type) input on the remote. It finds all the wireless networks in range you select the one you want and assuming it is encrypted then you enter your passcode. It remembers this so next time you return power to the unit although you need to move through the same screens and select the wireless network it then shows the passcode, here I think it should not display the actual code maybe just some dots as the passcode is there for anyone to see. Ethernet is simpler as it is just a matter of connecting an Ethernet cable between the unit and a router. There are literally thousands of Internet radio stations are these are split into Genres. On the Station list there are four choices Locations, New Stations, Popular Stations and Genres. There are 56 Genres listed, as regular readers will know jazz is my passion and there are 100 or these. Select what you want and after a few seconds of buffering you will be listening to what you have chosen, it could be in UK or America or New Zealand in fact anywhere in the world. I found the sound quality good. The FM radio was not as brilliant, there are two sensitivities and even with the supplied wire lead extended fully on the lesser setting it found three stations and thirteen in most sensitive so lots of stations are not found. It then lists the frequencies and in some cases the name of the station beside them. The actual reception quality varied. Lack of space prevents me from giving much detail about the other features, the Alarm Clock (choice of two) is easily set as in the Sleep Timer. The MP3 player works without problem and using it as a Media Server is logical. There is a twenty page Installation Guide that should get you going and also covers using Windows Media Player 11 on your PC. My one real gripe is your passcode being displayed anytime power is restored note I mean the back on/off switch and not the power switch on the top that is really only standby mode.

It has manual EQUALIZER and BIAS selection for Normal, Fe-Cr and Chrome tapes. Recording level is manually adjustable with two needle type VU meters. ​Instead of Dolby noise reduction this unit uses a JVC proprietary noise reduction system, the ANRS (Automatic Noise Reduction System) and the Super ANRS. The turntable section is a belt drive manual unit with S tonearm and a JVC cartridge. The radio section uses a beautiful tuning scale that stretches across the front edge of the unit. The amplifier delivers 25 W/channel @ 4 ohm. For an external source there is an auxiliary input at the back and there is provision for two sets of loudspeakers, one set for DIN plugs and the other one for bare wire. Comes with various great authentic cabinet speaker simulation settings and mic placement. Unit on which all of Rocktron cabinetsimulators (Prophesy, Repliflex) now are based on. Everything functions great! Note that, as I don't have any speaker, I have never used the high level input and output and can't test them.
