French vintage cage style ceiling light in cream and red with leaf  decoration.The light is made up in a round cage formation with scrolled detail to the top of the cage. It is decorated with leaves which have been painted red. The bulb holder hangs in the centre of the cage and is covered with a leaf decoration. The light hangs with from a 5 link chain a bar and cup style ceiling rose. This very attractive vintage French 8 arm chandelier is in the style of a tied bouquet. From the centre bar comes an array of pretty green leaves. foliage and lily flowers in shades of pink. The 8 arms form part of the tied bouquet feature at the bottom of the chandelier and are scrolled leading to pink flower shaped candle drip holders. The candle drips are beige hard plastic and are in keeping with the chandelier. The chandelier hangs from a 1 link chain bar and flower style ceiling rose. This wonderful chandelier is very attractive with lots of detail and would add a touch of French country style to your home decor. Superb Vintage French 6 Light Empire Chandelier in Bronze A stunning six light vintage chandelier with striking neo classic features and made from the finest quality bronze. The deep centre of the ceiling rose has embossed plumes at the centre on a scalloped fluted backdrop and a plain band around the edge gives a nicely defined circular rim. The short chain has two large angular links with a round link in the middle and joins to the top of the central column on a large scrolled hook. The exquisite central column of the chandelier is in a classic empire urn shape with heavy bronze appliques decorating it. A wide band encircling the top has two lines of delicate stippling going around it, and at the base is a magnificent garland of intricately embossed laurel leaves which in roman times symbolised health and prosperity. The central column of the chandelier is mounted on a very shapely pedestal with a sharply defined circlet of stipples around the middle. Below this is the smooth domed centre of the light which has a beautifully etched bronze band around the centre. The six superb arms extend from the centre band each held in place with a ribbed capital. Curving out from strong capitals on the inner end, they are embellished with detailed acanthus leaves unfurling along the centre on a textured backdrop and finish with strong empire capitals at the ends.url out. The elegant circular candle cups at each end have stylish fluting on the base and stipples at the rim with the fluted light holders standing high in the centre. All are complete with faux candle sleeves. The wide and shapely base of the chandelier has another applique of laurel leaves set in the centre and is completed by a large bronze torchere finial in the centre. This beautiful chandelier is in excellent vintage condition, and the heavy cast bronze whilst showing a few marks commensurate with age has gained a fabulous timeworn patina over the years, you could polish it to a high shine if you wish but I leave this as a matter for the owner to decide.   A stunning light with striking good looks it has all the classic elegance and design features of the period and it would be a magnificent addition to any home. The central column is in two distinct sections. The upper section has a striking acanthus shaped rose at the top, it has a  gently turned rim and is intricately embossed below with rich sprays of laurel leaves radiating out from the centre. Below this a vase shaped column, again with rich foliate embossing, sits on a circular plate from which rise up six slender sinuously curving decorative spurs each one with more embossed leaves and a super little daisy on the top. The scalloped circular plate, with a swagged pattern encircling the underside, also forms a rose for the lower section of the column. It has a slightly larger version of the vase shaped column above and sits on a sweeping capital on the top half of the chandeliers centre. It has an Egyptian type design etched around the extended rim forming a lovely scalloped edge. The six arms extend from the fluted band in the centre of the light. Carved along the length with extraordinarily detailed swathes of scrolled leaves, put together with the candle cups that match the top rose on the central column and they are wonderfully opulent and plush. All are complete with original faux candle sleeves. The base of the chandelier is a mirror image of the top centre of the light with the addition of a large pineapple finial in the centre. It is in wonderful vintage condition and the bronze has developed a lovely timeworn patina over the years that really glows when the chandelier is lit. The remarkable attention to detail and lavish workmanship in this chandelier would make it a stunning centrepiece in any home. Very Decorative 3 Light Vintage French Bronze Chandelier A lovely chandelier richly enhanced with flamboyant bronze detailing.   The deep cupped ceiling rose is has an elegant embossed pattern rising from the finely detailed centre. The suspension post has a small delicate hook at the bottom from which is suspended the short chain, which comprises two plain and one fancy link. At the top of the central column is a superb and very large trefoil hook, embossed with detailed swirls of plumage. The column has a slender neck enhanced with soft folded plumes and this widens out to a central piece covered in delightful coquille and acanthus leaves. The centre and base of the chandelier are identical, with a high domed shape, they are smothered in richly detailed trails of acanthus leaves spreading out from the centre and fine stippling on the rim. There is a plain bronze band around the centre and it is from here that the three arms extend.  Each of the rich curling arms is enveloped in sweeping plumes along the length and have deep acanthus flower candle cups set at the end. All are complete with faux candle sleeves. This fine chandelier is completed by lovely bronze finial in the centre base. In excellent condition it has developed a deep aged patina over the years which together with the fine decoration make it a superb and vintage addition to any home. These are so French chic! They lots of leaves and twisting stems, there are even leaves around the candle fittings. Then there are the lovely porcelain flowers adding a dash of bright colour. They have been rewired and are in full working order ready to fit. In very nice condition but with signs of age and wear as you would expect. There are a few nibbles to the edges of the porcelain flowers and one (at the bottom) has lost a couple of petals. They take E14 screw in bulbs readily available in the UK and Europe.For the US a small adapter can be bought inexpensively online to convert to E12 bulbs. Nemo me impune lacessit) - the royal motto, historically used on the Royal coat of arms of Scotland, which shows the thistle, and the words of the motto can rightly be attributed to the thorny thistle!
