Up for sale is a near mint example of the latest and greatest Audio Analogue AA Phono Stage. Picking up where the Aria left off, the AA Phono preserves the Audio Analogue house sound (fluid and tonally rich, with a touch of tube like warmth - but solid-state speed and bass depth), but adds extra soundstage width, focus, and much blacker, quieter backgrounds. Flexibility is top notch with absolutely every possible cartridge load and capacitance catered for - including very low output MC cartridges. Setup is very quick and easy via two rows of switches on either side of the unit, right below the front plate. Build quality is second to none, both inside (3 toroidal transformers, dual mono construction, high quality subsonic filter and shielding) and outside (the design, fit and finish are a joy for the eyes). The Prime sounds fast and is neutrally tuned but the best solid state kind there is. Maybe it is just slightly forward sounding, but not that much. Bass is tight, goes deep, is well layered and has a lot of detail but doesn’t have the big body of say the Beyerdynamic A20 amplifier (but it has far better quality). The Prime is a linear tuned unit and I find the bass to be perfect (and that’s an understatement) with the Audeze and Hifiman headphones but more on those later. The Prime’s mids are slightly more forward sounding, especially the vocals, but they are not bright. Don’t get me wrong on that because they sound incredibly good: perfect separation, great timbre, heaps of detail but never over-analytical and always musical and dynamic. Treble is extended and detailed but never harsh sounding. I do like my treble and the Prime does a splendid job for my taste. Treble is on the same level as the mids and bass: clarity, detail and sparkle. The Prime’s sound stage is wide and deep with a perfect balance and 3-dimensionality. I fell in love with the Prime’s sound as a DAC/Amp unit. There is no disappointment here, the Meridian DAC delivers a stunning performance in combination with my desktop sized solid state and tube amps. ASP blends the left and right channels to varying degrees – there are three options – to try to create a more natural presentation. These features can often compromise clarity and focus to improve sound staging, but ASP sounds pretty convincing. The Prime also works well as a dedicated stereo preamp. Beyerdynamic T90: High-end cans with remarkably accurate sound. Extremely wonderful sounding headphone, in perfect working condition, very little used as I prioritised my other headphones. Was protected with a plastic foil at the beginning, no smoking environement. Comes with original box and all the accessories. I still use my original set of Beyer DT990s that I bought in 1986. They seemed expensive then, but the price has long been forgotten while their quality is remembered every day. Headphones don't wear out or age. So long as you don't abuse them too much, they ought to outlive you. Never get cheap with headphones or speakers; they don't become obsolete as do electronics; these are completely passive transducers.The T90 overall has a very good detail retrieval, maybe not at the same level of the Sennheiser HD800 but one of the best I’ve heard so far. Left-right balance and 3-dimensionality are simply incredible, just like the huge sound stage. The presentation in general is rather airy and there is a lot of space between the instruments. The T90 is a tight sounding headphone that’s not coloring the sound, well maybe just very slightly but you get a very clear and realistic presentation no matter what genre you’re listening to. The T90’s bass is very tight and has reasonable impact/body. Bass detail and layering are very good and bass goes really deep. As standard it features all of the original TB-303 controls, and also has an external audio input through the filter and VCA. Overlapping midi notes gives you that essential 303 note slide, and any midi note with a velocity of 120 or more will trigger the note accent. Realistically if this synth was programmed correctly, you would be VERY hard pressed to distinguish between this unit and a real 303 in a mix. In a side by side comparison i'd say it sounds a little meatier than the Behringer TD3, with a little more girth and analogue weight to the sound. We have modded this machine with our circuitbenders Acid FM mods to give a huge range of extra sounds, without diluting the essential TB-303 character. MODS INCLUDE: VCO On/Off Switch: Normally when you plug a jack into the external VCF input, the MB33's VCO is automatically removed from the mix. As there may be occasions where you don't want this to happen, or situations such as when you're using the filter lock mod (see below) when you want to be able to turn the VCO on and off yourself, we've added a switch to add manual control of this. VCO Drive: The MB33 retro seems to be designed to slightly distort the output stage at full volume, much like the TB303 did. The Drive mod boosts this distortion savagely for some grungy acid techno sounds. This mod increases the maximum amount of distortion at maximum volume. The intensity of the distortion can be set using the normal volume knob. Resonance Boost Switch: An annoying issue with these machines is that the resonance never reaches self oscillation (but then neither did the TB303) and also drops off considerably when the cutoff is over 3/4 of the way up. We've solved this problem by adding the resonance boost switch. With this switch activated the filter starts to squeal with the resonance about halfway up, and then just screams with self oscillation at any higher settings. The resonance boost is especially effective when used with the VCF FM mods. VCF FM: Essentially VCF FM (Frequency Modulation) allows you to modulate the filter cutoff at audio frequencies to create all kinds of clanging cross modulation and bizarre alien splatters & sweeps. This effect works best with the resonance cranked up into self oscillation which is where the resonance boost mod comes into play. The FM controls allow you to select one of four sources for the FM signal. The first is the normal filter input socket round the back. This means you can run a sound through the filter section, but also use that sound to modulate the filter cutoff at audio frequencies at the same time. The second source is a new FM input jack on the right hand side of the case. Using this source allows you to run a sound through the filter from the VCF input or just use the internal VCO, and at the same time modulate the filter cutoff with an entirely independent sound source at the FM in jack. The actual audio from the FM in jack is not heard. The remaining two sources are the sawtooth and square wave signal from the main oscillator. These can be selected as sources completely independently of the setting on the VCO waveform knob The FM source select knob also has an 'off' setting. The amount of FM applied to the VCF is controlled using the VCF FM knob. Instead of a CD mechanism T+A have equipped the MP 2500 R with the SACD drive from T+A's High-End SACD player MP 3100 HV which is a completely new development. As in the MP 2000 R MK II, PCM data is converted using T+A's outstanding double differential quadruple converter with all it‘s sophisticated digital signal processing. DSD data are handled by the unique analogue T+A true 1-bit DSD converter from the PDP 3000 HV, which processes the DSD data in native form as a bitstream rather than converting them. This makes it possible to reproduce DSD data up to DSD 512, as delivered by the USB input of the digital connecting board, to the highest level of quality. The machine’s streaming client takes the form of the new T+A high-res streaming board, which provides maximum resolution as well as the facility to access various music services, Internet radio, inclusion in the home network via LAN and WLAN, USB Master Mode and HD streaming from network servers. The digital tuner offers FM, FM-HD and DAB+ capability, and delivers excellent sound. The T+A MP 2500 R also includes a high-quality Bluetooth streaming module for transferring music from mobile devices. The machine is controlled using the FM1000 infra-red remote control handset, or – ideally – the T+A Music Navigator App. In contrast to many manufacturers’ Apps, this is capable of controlling every element of every function of T+A's machines. Not only does it display the information pertaining to the streaming client, but also the screen content of all sources, such as the station name and radio text when used in FM radio mode. As an option the FD 100 bi-directional RF remote control system can be used as well. It displays the full content of the device screen and coverart as well. Technology It is only natural that the SACD and CD continue to lose significance, as they are increasingly superseded by streamed content; a trend reflected very clearly in the huge success of T+A's multi-source players with their extensive streaming facilities. However, it is clear that T+A audiophile customers still wish to be able to play music from CD and SACD, because none of us wants to throw away our old collection, and in any case there is an undeniable charm in owning a tangible data medium. Infact the SACD is currently experiencing what we can only term a renaissance all over the world. Therefore T+A decided to develop a completely new, modern SACD mechanism incorporating the latest decoder technology, offering very short access times and outstanding error correction. It is capable of reading CD (PCM 44.1 kSps) and SACD (DSD 64 2.8 MHz) discs at the highest possible quality. T+A have invested a huge amount of effort in the mechanical design of the drive unit, incorporating a high-quality drive, double laser optics and heavy-duty motors. With the aim of eliminating all traces of interaction between the moving parts of the disc drive and the remainder of the player T+A's disc mechanism features a mechanical isolation. A heavy aluminium plate and a solid case, which act as a mass damping devices, thereby preventing any structural sound from the mounting surface finding its way to the electronics and the disc mechanism. The disc drawer runs on two accurately machined stainless steel pushrods, while the disc rests in a specially coated, high-quality ABS cradle.

Truly exceptional equipment for its size, very powerful and impressive sound, perfect working condition. While the first - voltage gain - stage is based on an integrated circuit of the highest audio pedigree, the second - power gain - stage is a single-ended, pure Class-A amplifier. It enables the CanAmp to drive virtually any headphones from 8 ohms up to 600 ohms. As its output power (at 8 ohm) is nearly 1W, the CanAmp could drive even a high-sensitivity loudspeaker! The unit has no internal wiring, and the signal path is kept to a minimum on its PCB. Its high-quality, 1 dB-tolerance Blue Alps volume pot goes through a further selection process during manufacturing to achieve an even tighter, 0.5 dB tolerance. The CanAmp not only has a line-level input but offers a line-level output to boot; it can therefore be connected to the TAPE MONITOR output of an amplifier, leaving the TAPE output free for additional components (MP3, MiniDisc, CDR, etc.). Gold-plated RCA terminals are used, and soldered directly onto the fibreglass PCB. Measured performance is excellent, the bandwidth going far beyond the audio range in both bass and treble, with low distortion into any normal headphone impedance and plentiful output. Output level isn’t everything and the Heed will in any case drive even harder, but this amp impressed not least on account of its large audio scale. Indeed, even with quite modest volume-control settings the soun just seemed big and generous, tonally, dynamically and even spatially. Once again, there’s a lot of detail, but the dominant impression is of size. Funnily enough, this was perhaps more pronounced with some unaccompanied solo vocals than with orchestra or mega-rock, but that just serves to remind one that the human voice can indeed be a very big instrument. Perhaps if you like your music a bit on the polite side this may seem a touch excessive, but we freely confess that we just loved it. Tonality is great too. Very wide soundstage. Open airy 3D sound. The soundtage seems to stretch way beyond the headphones with an airy feel each instrument separated in its own space. Imaging is well defined and the midrange and treble are at a level that makes listening for long periods very non-fatiguing. The Op-amp can be swapped for other types to give a different sound balance if preferred such as the AD823AN (more pronounced high end) or LM4562NA (more forward sound with better bass control). This exceptional loudspeaker will satisfy not only demanding audiophiles but also those with home theater applications. Prepare to enter the dream-land of true high-end: great dynamics and stereo imaging, amazing bass, voices are perfect, huge soundstage, airy highs, articulated and detailed mids, gorgeous cabinet design. The speakers come with all the original spikes and grills and are in perfect working order. They come packed in the original boxes with protective foam. No discolouration of the veneer under the grills as can be seen in the photos. Could be shipped in two boxes but please, ask for a quote before as the postage differs from country to country, thanks! For Belgium, Germany or The Netherlands I believe you can arrange also for a Cocolis service, which is much more convenient. Extemely little used for their age, they were in my secondary studio. I got them home and hooked them up to a rather grunty NAD 753 HT amp, yamaha CD player, nothing too silly and the sound literally made my mouth fall open, then I went on to start swearing and punching the air with delight. They have detail that is so moorish to listen to, kind of juicy and the bottom end it rich and super deep, I will never sell these speakers, after years of searching I am finally spending less time on and more time listening to music. I should add that these are all-rounders, they do wonders for older low-fi recordings as well, so not just for the jazz or classical heads, these speakers make everything sound rich, lush and detailed. I sell a set of 2 JP-08 + all boxes and packing + paper manual + 1 midi cable + 1 audio cable + 2 power supply and USB cables + 2 brackets. The first JP-08 is in perfect condition. No scratches. Like new. The second one has some minor scratches due to a cable that was placed in the box by mistake. These two JP-08 are working perfectly. So this set is ready for a full 8 voices JP-08 in chain mode like the original Jupiter 8. The first thing that strikes you when you see the JP-08 is how professional it looks and feels - it's a diminutive metal fronted, plastic box with sturdy feeling short throw, orange-lit sliders and solid dials. As the unit is so compact, it fits nicely into a small rucksack, giving you a lot of sonic power to work with. On the move, on sessions or on stage this is a real bonus. Selecting patches is done Jupiter-8 style, with eight preset buttons to the left (64 patches total) and eight patch presets (which contain upper/lower/dual patches) to the right which all glow a pinky-orange. Type in the patch you want and off you go, though there's no patch naming so you need to remember numbers. The Patch Number/Patch Preset buttons also work in combination with the Manual and Dual buttons to select hidden functions (as listed in the compact manual) and to choose from solo (legato mono) unison (stacked mono) and poly (4-voice chord) modes. The buttons also act as 16-step buttons for the sequencer. The sound is so fantastic ! The JP-08 Boutique is identical to the actual Roland Jupiter 8 in sound, and editing, capabilities. It uses the acclaimed Boutique ACB (Analogue Circuit Behaviour) modelling technology to emulate the original Jupiter-8's circuitry and the way those circuits interact/behave. Sonically, the JP-08 gets right in the ballpark of the original Jupiter-8 and displays that recognizable smooth yet gritty character in terms of its filters (HPF and 12/24dB LPF), modulation and waves. I have never been so pleased with a synthesizer purchase as the JP-08 in 25 years of production experience. One JP-08 has 4 voices max, but because this auction is for 2 JP-08, you can link them in chain mode for 8 voices. The "chain mode" synchronizes all master parameters to the slave one. With a master keyboard, 2 Roland JP-08 are the way to go for a real Jupiter 8 sound, and editing, especially in DUAL mode. 10/10 rating !

You can find for sale one good km i 85 from time to time, but the kmi 85 matched pair is almost impossible to buy. This stereo set is a "secret weapon" of the best sound engineers). Neumann KM85i (...) A long-time staple for orchestral and acoustic recordings thanks to their clear and natural sound, the Neumann KM8x series of microphones can be found in just about every major studio and scoring stage - often half a dozen or more of them under one roof. Essentially, the KM85i (“i” designation simply means it has an XLR connector, typically for export to North America) is the same microphone as the widely loved and more expensive KM84i, but with a built-in bass rolloff. While this makes the microphone less useful in distant applications, the KM85i’s integral highpass filter actually comes in handy as you move the microphone closer to an instrument or voice. Proximity effect is an acoustical bass boost inherent to directional microphones as they move closer to the signal source, which makes the cardioid-patterned KM84i a bit too bottom-heavy when used as a close mic. The KM85i, however, sounds clear as a bell at closer distances, arguably making it a better choice for snare drums (engage the 10dB pad to avoid ugly distortion - or don’t), acoustic guitars, and any other sound that benefits from having a microphone within spitting distance.
