I had no problem to hear and also to work the local repeater on the "Low" power setting. The battery cells has been replaced with new NiMH rechargeable batteries. This was a cost of 30 eur. They are in new condition.   You can buy for this series of radios new battery packs  or even a battery case for 6 AA rechargeable cells (sold 14eur on).  I sell without charger and antenna (any UHF 70cm antenna with BNC connector will fit). A protective cap is missing on the Squelch control. The visual condition is quite good, especially the front. Minor scuffs on the back. See photos. Bronica SQ-Ai external battery pack. This is sold for parts or repair, as it seems to be working intermittently. There's a hint of a previous battery leak on one of the terminals, but this has been cleaned up. The battery compartment also has some splits in the plastic, but it still holds the batteries OK. It seems to be unreliable, sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't seem to be providing power, so there is possibly a loose connection.
