Indeed, this is certainly the first black Pellix manufactured, perhaps a test since the engravings were not painted white. The non-QL Pellix (quick load) series was replaced in 1966 by the Pellix QL, so there are very few examples in chrome and even fewer in black (-10 perhaps). It did take some tinkering to get it set up the way I thought it should be set up, which included putting a.5º StewMac shim in the neck pocket; with the Floyd being not-so-easy-to-adjust, the people at StewMac said they sell a LOT of the 5º and 1º shims for EVHs and other guitars with Floyd Roses on them.
