Nikon HN-3 hood in perfect condition, I don't think it was ever used. Comes complete with box and a paper about Nikon filters. This would be a perfect match for an an older non AI or AI lens.

It is very bright and perform well from the maximum aperture (1.8). In many cases it avoids the use of a flash, and keeps colours and light very natural. For FX format users, an in-camera 30x20 crop transforms the lens as a 102mm focal length. A DX crop brings it up to a 127mm... perfect to explore the telephoto photography without the weight! Beautiful results for portrait and landscape photography.

Il a été très certainement beaucoup utilisé. Il présente des égratignures sur le fut extérieur et des marques d'usures. Surtout, la lentille avant est fendue et le paresoleil légèrement déformé, du fait d'une chute très certainement. Son poids s'élève à plus de 6 kilos et peut surprendre. Toutefois ceci n'altère pas la qualité des images prises de manière sensible (cf. photos). / Above all, the front lense is plit and the camera hood is slightly deformed, because of a fall most certainly. Its weight is more than 6 kilos and can surprise. However this does not affect the quality of the images taken in a sensible way (cf. photos).

Nikon AF Nikkor ED 300mm f4 autofocus prime lens, with front and rear caps. In good condition and in full working order, though the focus can be noisy (details below). Externally this lens is in very nice condition, with only light signs of use. The glass is also good, it's clean, clear and free of haze and fungus. There is one tiny mark on the front element, which doesn't affect image quality, and it's otherwise unmarked. As with any used lens, there are a few specks of internal dust. The aperture blades are excellent, they're clean and free of oil, the aperture ring clicks well through the stops and the iris is snappy. The AF servo motor can be noisy - sometimes the screw-drive gear makes a high-pitched noise when refocusing between near and far subjects (or vice versa). This is apparently a common problem on this lens, but it shouldn't affect performance. The autofocus is accurate, but the noise could be disturbing if, for example, you're photographing wildlife. In manual focus the gear will make a similar high-pitched noise if you focus quickly. For normal fine focusing it doesn't make this noise, you have to move the barrel quite quickly to provoke it. In any case, I have set a lower price to reflect the issue. The removable filter holder works well and the included Nikon L37c is in good condition, with minor signs of use. The built-in hood is slightly dented but also still works very well. When tested the lens produces sharp, contrasty images. I often have similar or compatible items for sale, see my shop for details.
