Some refer to it as the "Secret Downliners Sect Album". It really never was........  Many theories and stories of how it came about have circulated over the years...  How it actually came about was thanks to a record producer friend of mine, Eddie Bourne. Eddie was asked to produce a Punk album, by a band called The Vacants. At the time Eddie felt the band needed augmenting for recording purposes, so he asked me to play guitar on the session...  Following on the back of the relative success of The Vacants album, I pursuaded Eddie to allow me to record a Punk album under the name F.U.2.  It all started out as a bit of a joke really. It was late 1970's that me and Keith Grant (2), of the Downliners Sect, set about to write the songs. Some of these we already had in the can that we thought would fit the bill, like "Out Of School", "Playin' My Guitar" which incidentally were later to appear on the Sects 'Showbiz' album. It wasn't long before ten other songs had been assembled and were ready to take into the studio.  As a band F.U.2 obviously never existed, so Keith and I enlisted musician friends to play on the session. Paul Holm was on drums, Robin Langridge on keyboards. Don Craine on rhythm guitar and Paul Tiller on blues harp were also co-opted to play on a couple of tracks. Les signes de l'âge sont présents. Le cd a des rayures et marques qui n'affectent pas la qualité sonore. F = Etat moyen L'état de la pochette est proche de celui de VG- avec en plus des écritures, un papier gondolé à cause de l'humidité, des déchirures sur les bords... La qualité du son est détériorée par les nombreuses lectures, il peut y avoir des sautements. Exemple: EX/VG Pochette en excellent etat / Disque en tres bon etat. °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° ---------------------------- °°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° Record condition : The sleeve is graded first. EX = Excellent The cover and packaging might have slight wear but excellent aspect overall. The cd may show some tiny signs of having been played. VG = Very good Cover shows some hanling imperfection like normal wear and tear, price tag, creasing... Cover can also be in mint condition but there is a DJ or promo copy stamp or cut in the corner. The CD has been played few times and displays  occasional light marks or scratches. Does not affect quality sound.G = Good Cover suffers from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration... Now the signs of age and handling are starting to show. You can notice some clear wear on the surface. Does not affect quality sound. F = Fair The cover and contents can be torn, stained and/or defaced, there also can be some writing on it. The CD has been played so much that the sound quality has been noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches

Often rumored but rarely seen, Mint should never be used as a grade unless more than one person agrees that the record or sleeve truly is in this condition. There is no set percentage of the Near Mint value these can bring; it is best negotiated between buyer and seller. NEAR MINT (NM OR M-) A good description of a NM record is “it looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time.” In other words, it’s nearly perfect. Many dealers won’t use a grade higher than this, implying (perhaps correctly) that no record or sleeve is ever truly perfect. NM records are shiny, with no visible defects. Writing, stickers or other markings cannot appear on the label, nor can any “spindle marks” from someone trying to blindly put the record on the turntable. Major factory defects also must be absent; a record and label obviously pressed off center is not Near Mint. If played, it will do so with no surface noise. (NM records don’t have to be “never played”; a record used on an excellent turntable can remain NM after many plays if the disc is properly cared for.) The Durutti Column - Vini Reilly - Factory - 70694,Factory - FACT 244 - France - 1989 The Durutti Column are an English post-punk group formed in Manchester(1978).The group is a project of guitarist & occasional pianist Vini Reilly who is often accompanied by Bruce Mitchell on drums and Keir Stewart on bass,keyboards & harmonica.They were among the first acts signed to the famous Label: Factory Records founded by Tony Wilson. The name was derived from a misspelling of the Durutti Column,an anarchist military unit in the Spanish Civil War named after Buenaventura Durutti. Vinyl in great conditions,no hairlines & probably plays a few times!!! Cover have small damage no a corners,small folds,wears front/back due a storage.
