Leurs visages et leurs ailes sont magnifiquement détaillés. Époque: Début XXème Siècle Dimensions: Hauteur: 15cm x Largeur: 7cm x Profondeur: 4cm Les anges musiciens semblent avoir été de tous temps présents dans les églises. Pourtant leur apparition ne remonte qu’au XIIIème siècle. Leur présence est ensuite constante jusqu’au Concile de Trente (1545-1563) qui, à défaut de les interdire, limite considérablement leurs représentations. Regroupés en ensembles instrumentaux ou en chœurs, les anges musiciens figurent aux grands moments de la vie du Christ, de la Vierge et des saints, comme sur les représentations du Paradis. Ils peuvent tenir des instruments à vent comme le cor, le seul capable de porter la parole divine, une flûte ou des cymbales, mais aussi un orgue, une vièle, ou un luth à partir du XVIIe siècle. Ils représentent ainsi l’harmonie entre la création par Dieu de l’univers et la réalité présente sur la terre. Set of three bas-relief sculptures representing cherub musicians in cast lead.
