Here we have an example of Pentax's fast portrait lens. This is from the generation of K-mount lenses that Pentax made before introducing the "M" K-mounts: build quality is a little higher than those later lenses. Unfortunately, this one has some fungus, mainly on on the edges of the inside of the front element. I suspect the performance impact would be subtle if any is visible, but I have not tested it. There is also a dent in the filter thread, so filters are not an option. Otherwise, things are good: focus is smooth across the range, aperture selector clicks nicely at each stop, iris blades are clean and snappy, cosmetic condition (apart from the ding) is very good.  Be sure to check out my other sales. There is a very small amount of element separation visible at the edge on the front element, but not enough to cause real-world problems. Focus is reasonably smooth. Iris blades are clean. This super-speed normal lens in Minolta's SR mount is perfect for adapting to mirrorless digital use. Glass is clean and clear: no fungus, no haze, no marks that I can see. Focus is smooth, aperture ring clicks precisely. The iris blades are clean but they are *not* snappy -- they are too slow to use on an SLR and will probably result in overexposure if you try. This is *not* a problem when using the lens on a digital camera with an adapter since the iris is pre-set to the taking aperture when taking a photo. The only other problem is a slight filter thread ding that might make it hard to use filters -- I don't have a 57mm filter to try, unfortunately. Cosmetic condition is very good, minimal wear. This VSL 3-E seems to have some kind of electronics problem. The viewfinder display lights up "60" with the other speeds showing flashing dots, no matter what the settings. Shutter fires at specific speeds, but in A mode mirror locks up. Cosmetically, the camera is in like-new condition. It was acquired from the stock of a former camera store, and my guess is it was a return that failed shortly after the original owner bought it. I tested this SX-70 with a new pack of film: the motor runs, but the dark slide does not eject.  When I press the shutter button, the camera appears to a take a picture (mirror flips, and longer shutter speeds are used in low light) but no film is ejected.  Apart from the that, the camera looks nice. This Sinar lens board takes lens has a 41.5 mm hole, which should be a Copa / Compur number 1 shutter.
