Le Dental Eye est le résultat de l'intégration d'un Yashica Contax RX, d'un objectif de 4/100 mm (5 éléments en trois groupes), d'un flash annulaire et d'un dos dateur. Au bout de l'objectif se trouve le réglage du rapport de reproduction. La clientèle visée est précisément celle des professions médicales, les dentistes en premier bien sûr. L'utilisation de l'appareil est extrêmement simplifiée. La mise au point est manuelle. Dans le viseur apparait un télémètre à coïncidence entouré d'une couronne de microprismes. Dans le viseur, le seul indicateur est le dessin d'un éclair qui lorsqu'il est fixe indique une charge complète du flash,  lorsqu'il clignote lentement une charge insuffisante du flash et lorsqu'il clignote rapidement  une insuffisance de lumière. L'appareil est entièrement automatique, il n'y a pas de réglage de vitesse ou d'ouverture. Les vitesses vont de 16 secondes au 1/2000 sec. Lorsque le flash n'est pas allumé, l'ouverture est bloqué sur 4 et le programme fixe la vitesse. Avec le flash, la vitesse est bloquée sur 1/90. L'appareil étant destiné à un usage intérieur, il peut être branché sur le secteur au moyen d'un transformateur. La mise au point est parfaite et sans à-coups ou blocages. Le pare-soleil intégré fonctionne parfaitement. En résumé: un état général parfaitement fonctionnel et délivrant des photos de superbes qualités avec un "Bokeh" réputé, notamment pour le portrait ! Vendu avec bouchons avant et arrière Leica.
