A previously used item that exhibits some light signs of cosmetic wear fully operational and functions as intended. The 2226H 15" low frequency transducer represents the results of JBL's latest engineering research in high power transducer design. For increased power handling while reducing power compression, a unique direct voice coil-to-air heat dissipation method called Vented Gap Cooling has been used. This process pumps air through the magnetic gap and directly over and around the voice coil to provide immediate heat transfer and reduction in operating temperature. Through the use of new computer-aided magnet optimization and analysis techniques comes a new weight-optimized Symmetrical Field Geometry (SFG) magnet structure, resulting in a reduction of overall driver weight and a significant reduction in harmonic distortion. This new magnet structure offers much of the weight advantage of rare earth magnet structures without their prohibitive cost. Great for portable subwoofer rigs or fixed installs.

La présentation du couple 3250-170DC est de toute beauté: épaisses façades en aluminium brossé avec sérigraphies soignées dont ces splendides lettrages comme calligraphiés propre à la marque américaine, assorties de boutons et commandes en aluminium judicieusement disposés pour un grand confort d' usage. Quand à l' ampli 170DC, que dire de ses magnifiques vumètres avec échelles rétro-éclairées en bleu et rouge sur fond d' aluminium brossé... c' est somptueux ! Le " Control Stereo Console 3250 " offre de nombreuses possibilités, tant en terme d' entrées/sorties, que de fonctionnalités. En effet, 7 entrées dont 2 Phono, et 3 sorties dont 1 pour casque, sont à disposition de l' utilisateur. Aussi, il propose de très intéressants outils de contrôle sonore: un Loudness variable très pratique pour les écoutes à faible niveau, des correcteurs de tonalités évolués débrayables et possédant 2 fréquences charnières au choix pour les réglages extrêmes, ainsi que les filtres habituels. Son réglage de volume cranté comme sa balance à contrôle linéaire sont particulièrement agréable à utiliser. La construction interne du 3250 est très astucieuse: l' ensemble des circuits est regroupé sur une large carte centrale  installée composants vers le bas, qui vient s' enficher sur les cartes verticales avant et arrière: à l' avant la carte regroupant les commandes de façade, et à l' arrière celle des diverses entrées/sorties. Le transformateur d' alimentation est un généreux modèle blindé. Les alimentations sont stabilisées par des régulateurs montés sur dissipateurs thermiques. L' ensemble de l' électronique est à composants discrets de grande qualité. Le " Power Stereo Amplifier 170DC " nous fait les " yeux doux " avec ses splendides et larges wattmètres rétro-éclairés qui emplissent sa face avant. Il dispose de gain séparés droite et gauche en façade. Son architecture interne est tout à fait traditionnelle et éprouvée pour un ampli de puissance: alimentation et circuit de protection en position centrale, et étages de puissance installés sur les cotés. Son alimentation symétrique met en œuvre un énorme transformateur blindé, un pont de diodes surdimensionné, et 2 excellentes et généreuses capacités de filtrage Mundorf M-Lytic Ag de 15000µF/63V, de quoi assurer des prestations dynamiques et une maitrise du grave sans faille. Les étages de puissance sont chacun constitués d' un double push-pull parallèle de transistors bipolaires complémentaires en boitiers métal TO-3 estampillés Marantz, en fait d' origine Toshiba. Ces transistors sont montés sur de larghes et massifs dissipateurs thermiques aluminium à ailettes, sur lesquels viennent directement se fixer les cartes driver. Sans condensateur sur le trajet du signal, ampli " DC " oblige (à priori capable de descendre jusqu' au continu), l' entrée du signal se fait via des étages différentiels faits de transistors à effet de champ Fet. A l' écoute l' ensemble 3250 et 170DC montre une restitution majestueuse éminemment musicale. En effet, il réalise la prouesse d' offrir à la fois matière, transparence, et dynamique, mais aussi chaleur et raffinement. Sur un vaste spectre sonore, il offre une transparence ou chaque détail, chaque micro information, est restitué avec discernement et vérité. La linéarité sur l'ensemble de la bande passante est excellente. Les timbres sont restitués avec un grand naturel et beaucoup de matière. Aussi, il fait preuve d'une belle richesse harmonique: médiums et aigus fourmillent de détails avec beaucoup de fluidité et de limpidité. L'espace sonore est grandiose, avec beaucoup d'ampleur et une parfaite stabilité spatiale. Ses capacités dynamiques sont très élevées comme sa réserve de puissance, capable de retranscrire toute la force et l'impact d'une grande masse orchestrale, particulièrement tonique et vivant. Il est capable de maîtriser d'une main de fer les enceintes les plus difficiles, tant ses capacités de tenue sont développées. Aussi, le bas du spectre est parfaitement contrôlé, descend bas, avec ampleur, articulation, et rapidité.
