It was never worn in a major final tournament because England did not qualify for either the European Championship of 1976 or the World Cup of 1978, the two big competitions held during its tenure of almost six years. The only tournaments at which it appeared were the annual  British Championship  and the  U.S.A. Bicentennial Cup Tournament of 1976. But its end was marked by a measure of success. It was worn during England's successful  European Championship 1980 qualifying campaign. At the end of the first season in which this kit was worn, a lightweight version appeared. This was similar to the Aertex material that England had been wearing when Umbro were the suppliers, except that the Admiral shirts had square holes in the material, rather than the circular holes of the Umbro shirts. We are still trying to confirm exactly which games Admiral supplied the lightweight shirts for and the references below may be subject to change. It is also likely that lightweight shirts were worn by some players and not others in certain games, or even wearing different materials in each half. England wore embroidered Admiral logos on their lightweight shirts. In the first four games in the Admiral kit, the logos were ironed-on shiny plastic badges and some were white, rather than yellow. France Away Player Issue 2003 2004 2005 Dual Layer Adidas XXL. This is an actual pro kitroom shirt with no FFF logo and a dual layer. This is the jersey worn by France for the first time against Germany in 2003, then at Euro 2004 and the World Cup 2006 qualifiers. The real player issue shirts had no FFF logo back then as players had a logo with match details printed for every game. It is in great condition, no bobbles, no pulls.
