Description of present selling Horace SILVER «The Stylings of Silver» BLUE NOTE BLP1562, New York USA labels.1962 Mono issue deep groove and b'"'earb'"' in dead wax both sides. Audio quality is great with rich clear Blue note sound. It's a nice Horace Silver quintet, in my opinion the surprising association of Art Farmer on trumpet and Hank Mobley on tenor fit very well. Side1: Ex+ (9/10), Visual Ex with some superficial unfeelable sleeve marks, great Ex+ audio. My initial signature in pencil paper (removable) on right side of label. Side2: Ex+ (9/10), Visual Ex with some superficial unfeelable sleeve marks, great Ex+ audio. Cover: VG (6/10), Not too bad at first sight but downgraded because of 3 damages on seams, 5 cm tearing on left top seam and center spine and a 5 cm repearable splitting on center bottom seam. There is also little tearing on bottom seam corners and a touch of stain on upper back. (see photos). My grading scale is simple with letters and figures to improve understanding. I grade each side of the record separately (first side then second side) and in the end the cover. I precise the grading with specific informations for each side and cover. I do not grade inner sleeve (possible tearing or tape on it). If you’re interested in inner sleeve condition, feel free to ask… The scale of grading is: VG-(5/10) VG(6/10) VG+(7/10) EX(8/10) EX+(9/10) To be more precise EX+: a superb record with extremely few light flaws if any, maximum of 10 seconds of repetitive tics per side or less. EX: a very nice records with few marks, maximum of 30 seconds of repetitive tics per side or less. VG+: still a nice record but with a bit more marks with a few lightly feelable, maximum of 1mn30 seconds of repetitive tics per side or less. VG: a record with some marks feelable or not, no skips still enjoyable with portions of background tics, maximum of 2 to 3 mn of repetitive tics per side. VG-: a very used record, not trashed but with numerous feelable marks, still no skips but expect maximum of 5 mn of repetitive tics per side or a bit less. Very strict regarding collectors should only bid on EX and EX+ records. I didn't have a record cleaning machine and all records could benefit an ultrasonic cleaning. To improve sound, records should also be listened to with a stylus in good shape (less than a year). Date of release is unknow but could be (with  all reserve)  in the 1962 - 1963 period, (first USA release  in 1962) Ce disque pressé pour la France est  très rare ETAT DU VINYLE - CONDITIONS  VG + pour le disque  - Record grading VG+   Used but  Plays very well and sounds great Just very light crackling at some points. Record surfaces show almost no signs of wear, are very clean. One or two very light scratches (light speedle mark that don't affect at all the good listening.) Has not been very listened before...could be VG++ but prefer say VG+. Il a été nettoyé récemment au détergent et rincage eau deminéralisé, mais il est possible qu'il reste encore un peu de vieille poussière incrustée dans les sillons car le disque a été longtemps stocké sans être joué. Il a été peu écouté et il joue excellent. Disque nettoyé et testé. Pochette VG avec traces d'usures localisées sur coins et bords, ancienne  trace d'humidité sur l'arriere coin gauche, qui reste encore solide. Taches légères et salissures anciennes disséminées sur l'arrière de la pochette. Présence de la pochette intérieure originale Blue Note. Elle est en très mauvais état mais sera donnée pour conserver ce document. Pochette generique ancienne mais propre  la remplaçant. VG + minimum for the vinyl record. Je sors le disque (avec sa sous-pochette) de sa pochette cartonnée, car sinon le disque peut bouger et faire des trous dans la pochette (vécu en tant qu’acheteur). Puis j’ajoute 3 couches de protection : 1.    pochette en plastique comme celle que vous trouvez chez un disquaire. 2.    enveloppe à bulles avec des cales pour assurer l’écart avec le 3ème niveau. 3.    carton cannelé haute qualité, très rigide, avec la mention « fragile »   Shipping with Mondial Relay tracking, perfectly reliable. I have shipped hundreds of discs and have never encountered any problems. Here is my method. I take the disc (with its under-cover) out of its cardboard cover, because otherwise the disc can move and make holes in the cover (experienced as a buyer). Then I add 3 layers of protection: 1. plastic pouch like the one you find at a record store. 2. bubble wrap with shims to ensure the gap with the 3rd level. 3. high quality fluted cardboard, very rigid, with the mention "fragile"

De très légères marques lumineuses peuvent être constatées sur la surface du disque, mais cela doit être vraiment minime. Il ne doit y avoir aucun effet sur la qualité sonore du disque. Si c’est le cas, même minime, il ne pourra plus être considéré comme NM ou M-. EX Excellent La pochette peut avoir quelques très discrètes rayures et/ou des petits plis. Le disque montre des signes d’avoir été joué (sensibles marques lumineuses), mais la perte de qualité sonore est pratiquement inaudible. VG+ Very Good + La pochette présente des signes de manipulations évidents: extrémité légèrement cornée, étiquette du prix, plis. Mais aucun défaut majeur. Il peut y avoir des craquements et également des petits sauts si le disque est légèrement gondolé. G Good Pochette et sous pochette présentant de nombreux défauts dus au temps et à l'usure, notamment sur la tranche et les côtés. Elles peuvent être maintenues par du ruban adhésif ou recouvertes par des autocollants. Les rayures en surface sont bien visibles. B Bad La pochette est très abîmée avec des déchirures, des traces et marques d’usure un peu partout. Des éléments de la pochette peuvent être également manquants. Le vinyle n’est plus jouable correctement à cause des trop nombreuses rayures et défauts de surface. Le disque peut être cassé, dans ce cas il mérite sa place dans un listing uniquement s’il est très rare.
