Naviguant à vue de sensibilité, il est enregistré sur cet album avec deux rythmiques présentant Duke Jordan au piano pour la première et Jimmy Rowles au même instrument pour la seconde. L'originalité de Stan Getz tient à son inépuisable envie de tourner autour des thèmes qu'il relance à chaque détour de mesure, plus que dans le répertoire abordé, qui est ici des plus classiques du genre. Ayant toujours su s'entourer de musiciens dont la veine expressive tient compte de la rondeur des harmoniques de son saxophone, il signe encore une oeuvre qu'on a l'impression de connaître avant de la découvrir. Toutes les conjugaisons d'esprit sont possibles avec Stan Getz, qui ouvre à chaque fois le chemin de la sensibilité sans voyeurisme et ici c'est celui d'un bebop classique de haute interprétation. --Jean- Michel Schlosser
