Crafted from gilt brass bronze and covered with an assortment of crystal droplets, these sconces feature a beautiful gold colour that will complement any decor. A stunning pair of antique French bronze sconces. They are in Rococo style and have elegant metalwork with stylised ribbon motifs. They date to the early twentieth century and are ideal for adding classic French style to your home. Seen in the photos with four lampshades I made in a blue on light cream toile de Jouy fabric. I make all of my lampshades by hand in my studio in Bordeaux. At the time of listing, I have two matching pairs of these sconces available. Total height with the lampshades in place 38 cm (14.96 inches) Maximum width with the lampshades in place 25 cm (9.84 inches) Stand 15 cm from the wall (5.9 inches) max The lampshades measure 10 cm x 10 cm x 6 cm (3.9 inches x 3.9 ins x 2.3 ins) In good used, antique condition. The metalwork has a patina of time and surface wear commensurate with the age of the sconces. There is a fine split in the wood of one of the faux candles. The little, handmade lampshades have clip on rings at the top, which fit on to flame shaped (candelabra style) LED bulbs. They do not have rings at the bottom edge. IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE: These sconces have recent two core wiring and their original wooden bulb holders and wooden faux candles (final photo). Your electrician will likely recommend bringing these sconces up to modern standards. Require 4 x E14 screw fit LED bulbs (not supplied) US and Canadian buyers can find bulb adapters on line to use their E12 bulbs with these sconces, please search 'E14 to E12 adapter'. The adapters cost approximately 3 USD each and you will require four adapters. They simply screw into place and then allow you to insert your E12 bulbs which will then work normally on your 110v or you may prefer to rewire to current standards. IMPORTANT As with all used electrical equipment, you are advised to have this item checked fitted/ rewired if deemed necessary, in your home by a qualified electrician. Wall fixing screws not supplied (you will need 4 brass screws) to fit these sconces flush to your wall.
