Née à Bucarest dans une famille de musiciens, d'une mère roumaine et d’un père hongrois, Ramona nourrit depuis l'enfance une passion pour les standards de Broadway et la musique de Duke Ellington qu'elle découvre très tôt grâce aux émissions de Willis Connover, en particulier « Jazz Hour » (sur les ondes de « Voice Of America »), écoutées en cachette par la famille. Ramona commence le piano à l'oreille à l'âge de trois ans, et ensuite à l'école de musique à partir de six ans. Elle baigne à la maison dans toutes sortes de styles musicaux: des chansons américaines, du jazz, des musiques traditionnelles et gitanes, des boléros cubains, mais aussi bien sûr de la musique classique, qu'elle va se mettre à étudier intensivement. Elle obtient à 23 ans son diplôme de soliste en piano classique au CNSM de Bucarest A la fin de ses études, elle rencontre le pianiste américain d'origine hongroise Jancy Korossy, icône du jazz international des années 50'-60' derrière le rideau de fer. Ce sera une rencontre déterminante qui propulsera Ramona complètement dans l'univers du jazz. Les deux pianistes se produiront aussi sur les scènes européennes pendant quelques années. En 2010, Ramona s’installe à Paris et monte un trio avec Guillaume Duvignau à la contrebasse et Frédéric Sicart à la batterie. Elle rencontre en 2012 le contrebassiste Nicolas Rageau avec lequel elle va développer plusieurs projets. En 2015, Ramona enregistre son premier album en trio avec Nicolas Rageau et Frédéric Sicart,« XS Bird » (Blackb'&'Blue), dédié à la mémoire de Jancy Korossy, décédé deux ans plus tôt (prix du meilleur album de jazz en Roumanie). En 2017, changement d'orchestre et de son pour un nouvel album plus ellingtonien « Lotus Blossom » (Blackb'&'Blue), enregistré en quartet avec André Villéger au sax ténor, Nicolas Rageau et Philippe Soirat à la batterie.
