It is made from vitreous enamel fused onto sheet steel.  Heavy gauge - unlike modern versions this one can't be bent easily.  Very durable.  Made in 1900s. 5" high 7" wide. (12 cm x 18 cm + ou -), Convex (domed) with the white enamel in relief.  Excellent definition. blue reflections can be seen on certain plates Black on white is an extremely uncommon combination on French house numbers, as are genuine house numbers this high. This is the real thing from a real house in real France.  Not a copy, not made yesterday.  From a house in Ain (Swiss border). All numbers accurately described - I do not try and mislead customers by applying euphemisms such as "authentic" or "traditional" or "original" or "vintage" or "style" to pass off cheap repro items as the real thing.
