Je vous propose une rareté, qui vient de la collection prestigieuse d'un professionnel de la musique pop américaine. Elliott was born Irwin Elliott Zucker in Hartford, Connecticut. He was of Romanian Jewish descent.[1] Elliott graduated from the Hartt School of Music and worked as a jazz pianist in New York and Paris in the 1950s.[2][3] He continued his post-graduate studies in composition with Arnold Franchetti, Isadore Freed, Bohuslav Martinů, and Lukas Foss, but it was Judy Garland who brought Elliott to California to become an arranger for her television show. Elliott continued his run in television as music director for Andy Williams' long-running series and later produced and conducted the NBC television special Live From Studio 8H: 100 Years of America's Popular Music. He also wrote themes for television shows Night Court, and co-wrote the themes to Barney Miller and Charlie's Angels with Allyn Ferguson. He is listed in New Grove's Dictionary of American Music and was awarded an honorary doctorate from his alma mater, the University of Hartford's Hartt School of Music. Elliott was co-founder and music director of the American Jazz Philharmonic (formerly the New American Orchestra)[4] and creator of the Henry Mancini Institute.[5] The original name of the Orchestra was b'"'The Big Ob'"' and was the largest jazz orchestra of its kind featuring over 92 musicians. Elliott blended the classical European style orchestra with modern American jazz style. His professional repertoire was diverse, highlighted by stints as music director for the Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, Kennedy Center Honors and the 1984 Summer Olympics. In addition, he holds the distinction of serving as music director of the Grammy Awards for 30 consecutive years. He had an accomplished career in film, scoring numerous hit movies, including Sibling Rivalry, The Jerk, Oh God!, and Where's Poppa?. He also produced the Blade Runner soundtrack album with the New American Orchestra, and composed the song b'"'It's So Nice to Have a Man Around the Houseb'"' in 1950, made famous by Dinah Shore. Vinyle 33 tours ~ Johnny Cash rainbow 1985 État : Occasion Disque et pochette en bon état Envoi possible en Mondial Relay merci de préciser svp Critique du disque sur le site wikipédia : Rainbow is the 70th album by American country singer Johnny Cash, his last for Columbia Records, released in 1985 (see 1985 in country music). "I'm Leaving Now", which was re-recorded 15 years later for Cash's American III: Solitary Man, was released as a single rather unsuccessfully, but the album's signature song is a cover of Kris Kristofferson's "Here Comes That Rainbow Again", which also appeared on Cash's 1995 collaboration with Kristofferson, Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings - known as The Highwaymen - entitled The Road Goes on Forever, though it was sung solo by Kristofferson on the latter. Also included is a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?," from Pendulum. The album also includes the song "Love Me Like You Used To," which was later recorded by fellow country singer Tanya Tucker, and became a country hit for her. Following the release of this album and a duet album with Jennings in 1986, Cash moved to Mercury Records as a result of Columbia's fading interest in his music, though he later returned to Columbia for the second Highwaymen album.

AC/DC HIGH VOLTAGE '75 AUSSIE ALB. PRODUCTIONS 009 ONLY SIDE 2 BLU ROO !?!. État : "Bon état" to read absolutely before bidding !!!: this album was released on february 17 1975 in australia so he is 46 years old! it is not a first hand, it has two qualities of exceptions which is worth to be interested in it especially for collectors of vinyls of ac / dc like me and I am asser stalled in this field,  and also unfortunately some three bad points or even four if you count the cover; I will explain to you to start on the state of the vinyl and the cover: the cover on the front and back is appreciable see the photos,  but on each side: in the sleeve an opening of 6 to 7 cm is on the three junction sides so to stay in the real no adding tape,  but is delivered with a pvc protection that keeps everything stable, vinyl level, listen to headphones: the first track side 1;  "baby please don't go" between 13 seconds and 20 seconds from the start shows two minimal jerks barely susceptible and which does not prevent the smooth unwinding of the vinyl, on side 2 "soul tripper" a minimal jerk in the second minute and to conclude another jolt during "show business" halfway through  the track and of course not susceptible: and does not prevent  the smooth running of the vinyl, otherwise all the rest of  the album is masterful, a fucking his ! I would like to point out,  listen to a technics sl 3300 and Tracking force of 1.75 grams (important!) Now we will get into the subject, this vinyl has the particularity of having the roo logo only on side 2 and for explanation:  First pressing with Blue center labels & kangaroo. Track A1 is credited to Broonzy on back sleeve and center labels. Later copies had the side one label changed to correct an error in the writing credit for "Baby Please Don't Go". It was incorrectly credited to Broonzy, but was actually written by Joe Williams - The matrix number is the same, and the label still carries the Blue Roo,  that is used by Alberts, to signify an original Alberts issue. Track A1 is still credited to Broonzy on the back of the sleeve,  but Joe Williams is now credited on the side one label. (these are a lot less common than Broonzy -  at a rate of around Three Broonzy to one Joe Williams, which is also a good indicator that this is not a different issue). AND HAS NOTICEABLE SURFACE MARKS SO GRADED IN GOOD + CONDITION. NOTE WE GRADE ALL OUR RECORDS AS PER RECORD COLLECTOR RARE RECORD PRICE GUIDE ! Notes Blue center labels & kangaroo logo on side B. This is a later label variant which has had the track A1 writing credit corrected from Broonzy to Joe Williams. A1 is still credited on the back sleeve to Broonzy. The matrix numbers are the same showing the same masters were used for pressing this release. Code-barres et autres identifiants - Matrix / Runout (Runout A, stamped): YAPAX1177 - Matrix / Runout (Runout B, stamped): YAPAX1178

*** 4 Classic GOON SHOWs from BBC Transcription Service *** Talking about the influence of The Goon Shows on the British comedy that followed it, The Wikipedia entry states: - Eddie Izzard notes that the Goons and Milligan in particular b'"'influenced a new generation of comedians who came to be known as 'alternative'.b'"' John Cleese [of Monty Python fame] notes that b'"'In comedy, there are a very small number of defining moments when somebody comes along and genuinely creates a breakthrough, takes us into territory where nobody has been before. The only experiences to which I can compare my own discovery of the Goons are going to see N. F. Simpson's play One Way Pendulum... or, later on, hearing Peter Cook for the first time. They were just light years ahead of everyone else.b'"' These four vintage episodes come from the middle of the show's life run and were recorded in November and December 1956. BBC Transcription Service disks of the shows were distributed throughout the Commonwealth the follow year and were later released in the USA. In all there were over 240 Goon Shows, most written entirely by Spike Milligan, an amazing output. These two disks are not in the best condition and do have some surface noise, Nonetheless, a lot of pleasure and fun can be had from listening to them and what Goon Fan wouldn't want to own them? (NOTE: These disks have been spot-checked for condition.) The Episode titles are: - 99 - The Jet-Propelled Guided Naafi (27' 41b'"') - 100 - The Nadger Plague (28' 27b'"') - 101 - The Great Bank Robbery (28' 03b'"') - 102 - What's My Line? (28' 02b'"') The BBC Transcription Service pioneered full-range high fidelity recording in the BBC and was the first to regularly record in stereo and quadraphonically; it pioneered using Dolby A noise reduction. BBC Transcription Service records had short print runs, usually around 100 discs, and most copies were destroyed after broadcasting rights expired. This rare example was obtained directly from the BBC TS's own undistributed stock. These limited edition LPs include the original BBC TS cover. All items from Verity Vinyls are part of a personal collection of records, musical manuscripts and books, started in 1953 when the collector, then aged 12 years, bought his first LP - a symphony by Mahler. He is now disposing of a selection of items from his collection. Unless otherwise stated, all disks are tested before despatch, and are shipped in professional box mailers with additional stiffening pads, specifically designed for vinyl records. En savoir plus
