[NEAR-MINT] 8mm 1.75x BABY HYPERGONAR by H. CHRETIEN / ANAMORPHIC / CINEMASCOPE This copy of this mythic lens is absolutely flawless, it's just like buying a brand new lens, and I sincerely ain't bullshitting about that. It comes with 3 original rear adapters, original front & rear caps, the original box and the user manual. This anamorphic adapter have fixed focus, which means that it's in focus from 4m to infinity, and you can get a closer focus by focusing on your taking lens as well as by using diopters. It's a very small scope but the results a properly stunning, you'll get a very very sharp image and some truly pretty nice neutral/blueish flares. I'm selling it because I have too many anamorphic scopes and I don't use the Hypergonar that much frequently, so it will probably be in better hands with someone else; this wonder of technic has to be use to create and always create more, not to taking the dust on a shelf. I paid 1500€ for this few months ago, so I'm asking 1300€ today, in regard to what I payed back in the days, I think it's fair enough. I barely used it, it's truly like a new thing. Let's go back a little in time. To 1927, to be exact, when the dapper little Professor Henri Chrétien, mathematician and astronomer and featured in the french version of "Who's Who ?", gave his famous Paper to the Academy of Science in Paris. Prof. Chrétien's thesis outlined his calculations on a lens that he called the HYPERGONAR. This lens took an extra angle of view in the horizontal plane only and compressed this in to the, then, pre-academy format motion picture frame. The professor's idea being to get extra information on to standard emulsion area, thus obviating the need for wider or larger - and therefore more costly - filmstock. Of course, we all know (don't we?), that the HYPERGONAR was the basis of the CinemaScope lens finally adopted by 20th CENTURY Fox Inc. This design also became the little 8mm HYPERGONAR. The little 8mm HYPERGONAR is the most famous of all the CinemaScope lenses, (It's the only one allowed to carry that famous name on its barrel). And deservdly so, since it is an excellent little unit that is capable of absolutely superb visual results, while being small enough to be within most peoples pockets! In construction the 8mm HYPERGONAR is unique. With a minimal length, at least half that of its nearest rival, and a very small diameter. It is virtually a solid block of glass, a beautifully made objective and a delight to use. A l'inverse, une EL84 mesurée à 41mA à 250V/250V/-7,3V pourrait sembler user puisqu'elle ne débite pas 48mA, mais si sa pente est de 11,5mA/V (nominal neuf à 11,3mA/V), elle est bel et bien neuve. Donc la mesure la plus importante à prendre en considération pour choisir un tube est sa pente en mA/V obtenue avec les paramètres de la datasheet du fabricant. English Nota: Measured tubes I sell are measured both in emission and mutual condutance (Gm). Indeed, measuring emission only is useless to know the tube's condition. It's its mutual condutance which indicates its potential lifetime. For instance, an ECC83 measured at 1.2 mA per triode at 250v/-2v could seem to be new as 100%= 1.2 mA. But, its mutual conductance once measured could only be 1,3 mA/V per triode instead of 1,6 mA/V (100%). It means that the tube was already extensively used and is only at 80% of what it was supposed to deliver when new. When new, its emission was higher than the 1.2 mA measured, maybe 1,5 mA or more per triode. This tube could not be considered as new and can't be sold as new. An other example with an EL84 measured at 41mA at 250V/250V/-7.3V would seem to be used as it should give 48mA when new, but if its mutual conductance is 11,5mA/V (11,3mA/V when new), it is strictly new. So the most important measurement to consider to choose a tube is its mutual conductance measured in mA/V according to the datas of the maker's datasheet. Informations: 1 tube en vente.
