Read the description in english below Emerson 888 "Pioneer"  (1958) Radio emblématique de la période mythique définie comme "l'Age de l'Espace". Elle doit son nom aux sondes spatiales Pioneer, dont la première avait été lancée par la NASA le 11 octobre 1958. Il y eut ensuite d'autres déclinaisons de cette radio sur ce même châssis, nommées "Vanguard" (première fusée lanceuse de satellites), "Atlas" (fusée du programme Mercury), "Explorer" (satellite lancé par une fusée Vanguard), et "Satellite". Très bon état cosmétique général. Complet, rien ne manque. Tous les composants sont d'origine. Quelques usures normales. Il n'y a ni éclats, ni fissures, ni craquelures sur cette radio, et seulement quelques très légères zones d'usure de peinture (voir photos). Le support orientable est présent. Fonctionne comme au premier jour (à condition d'avoir des émetteurs PO à capter, ce qui se fait rare en Europe, sauf par exemple en Espagne). Et de fait, la nuit, ce poste capte plusieurs émetteurs espagnols depuis la Bretagne (environ 600 km de distance)... C'est l'un des premiers postes à transistors à être commercialisé au grand public. Le transistor semi-conducteur au germanium avait été inventé peu de temps auparavant dans les laboratoires de la Bell Company par les Américains John Bardeen, William Shockley et Walter Brattain, qui reçurent le prix Nobel de physique en 1956. There are no chips or cracks or crazing on this radio, and only some very slight paint wear areas (see photos). The adjustable stand is present. Works like a charm - providing there are MW broadcasting stations in your area... For instance, at night time, it can receive several spanish MW transmitters from my home in Brittany-France (approx. 400 miles away). This is one of the earliest general public transistor radios on the market. Mavis Staples ‎– Time Waits For No One Label:Paisley Park ‎– 9 25798-2 Format:CD, Album Pays:US Date:1989 Etat / Grading: Très bon; comme neuf / Very Good, like new Time Waits For No One is the seventh solo studio album by American R&B and gospel singer Mavis Staples (her first on Paisley Park Records), and her first to include input by Prince. Six of the album's eight songs are written, produced and largely performed by Prince, and he is listed as the executive producer of the whole album (although he is not believed to have had any input on the two tracks not written by him). First steps Prince (through manager Bob Cavallo) approached Mavis Staples about recording an album in Autumn 1987 after seeing her perform as part of The Staple Singers in August 1987 at The Forum, Inglewood, CA, USA. The group had been unsigned for 13 years, and Mavis Staples soon signed with Paisley Park Records. Recording process Work on the album began in February 1988, when Prince recorded Interesting. He sent the track, along with Jaguar (a vault track recorded in January 1987, originally intended for Sheena Easton), to Mavis Staples in Memphis, TN, USA, where she recorded lead vocals on both tracks using producers Al Bell, Homer Banks and Lester Snell at Ardent Studios. In late June 1988, shortly before leaving for the European opening of the Lovesexy Tour, Prince recorded Time Waits For No One for the album, and revised Come Home (initially recorded January 1987), I Guess I'm Crazy (initially recorded October 1987) and Train (initially recorded July 1986), and all four songs were sent to Mavis Staples for lead vocal overdubs. Prince and Mavis Staples did not work together in the studio on this album, therefore, although they did work together in late July 1988, in Olympic Studio, London, England, on God Is Alive, which was not considered for the album, as well as on later projects following the release of this album.
