Montre Marathon wrist watch General Purpose Infantery Black Vintage Sept 1990. The Marathon General Purpose Quartz is a watch built to strict military standards. Designed for field use by military personnel, this watch is built to withstand the needs of infantry, as well as suit civilians needs for a casual watch. This item is dated September 1990 and was produced for the first Irak war (Desert Storm). It’s a genuine piece of watch history. The government marking is on the back of the watch. The mechanism works fine but will need to be checked for accuracy and water resistance. The case is without any scratch and looks brand new as if never worn. It is sold as-is without any warranty but comes with a watch expert valuation official certificate.

1972 Ultra Chron Cushion Case Automatic Date Cal 6651 Excellent Condition History In 1967, Longines launches the Ultra-Chron, with a self-winding 11″ line caliber aiming to offer an alternative to the electronics and quartz used by the competition. The regulating organ of the L430 movement is a guarantee of accuracy, with the characteristics of a competition piece as it vibrates at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour. The Caliber 6651 released in 1972 is the same quality movement with minor modifications done to lower its rate down to 28600 bph, adjusted to 4 positions to increase its accuracy.  Longines made that move to remedy the issue they faced with high frequency movements, which required a lot more attention and maintenance. It resulted in offering one of the best quality movement Longines has ever produced.  The watch  The condition of the watch is excellent, the case, the dial, hands and indexes and the movement are all original and in mint condition.  The bezel still has its original Sun-ray brushed finish, as the case has never been re-polished.  The watch functions work perfectly, date change, hand setting,  push pull of the crown, winding action….  My wrist is 7,1 Inches or 18cm wide (medium size). Citizen Worldtimer (GMT) 68-0516  1973 All Original  Never relume - never polished Caliber 7450 JUST SERVICED 2X Citizen Original Crowns ungraved CTZ The feeling you get when you strap it on your wrist is like no other. The light is passing through the acrylic crystal and bouncing back from the silver dial, the inner rotating bezel with all those cities… The case is made of stainless steel, 42 mm diameter (rather large even for today’s standards), with a cushion shape. The frontal side is brushed, in a circular motion and the sides and the part where the bracelet connects to the case are polished. There is also a polished bezel that holds the domed acrylic crystal. The shape of the case protects the twin crowns (signed “CTZ”), one for winding the watch and one for rotating the inner city bezel. The SS caseback is screwed in, marked “parawater”. Parawater is a term used by Citizen to describe what later will become “water resistant”. The dial is silver with applied Citizen logo and hour markers. They have green luminescent material applied. There is luminescent material on the hands too, except for the seconds hand that is polished and the “GMT” hand that is short and painted red.  The 24 hours ring might be all black or half blue, half black (just as the 2014 released Rolex GMT – ceramic bezel – 40 years later). The movement is automatic with hand winding capability, hacking seconds calibre 7450, with 21 Jewels. Just as all the other Citizen movement this one is nothing fancy, just a simple working, reliable one. As time passes, you learn to  really appreciate the simplicity of Citizen movement, the sound of it, the movement of the hands…  The date is quickset and it beats at 21.600 bph. The year this one was introduced was 1971. The nice thing about this movement is that added to the three classic hands, there is a forth one (the red small one) that is circling the dial once every 24 hours. In order to operate the Worldtimer function you need to use the 24 hours hand and the inner bezel. You have to rotate the inner bezel until the timezone where you are in is opposite to the 24 hours hand. Then you have to look for the city you want to know the time in and read the time on the inner 24 hours ring, next to that city. A real traveller watch, so entertaining to operate, so simple and so clever, nice wrist presence and gorgeous!

This chronograph Wakmann Gigandet ref 14 35 is dated 1972, it is fitted with a handsome panda dial and encases a Valjoux 7734 swiss manual caliber. Wakmann was acting as the exclusive Breitling distributor in USA and often selling Breitling and Wakmann versions of the same watch. The sister version of this chronograph was the Breitling ref 592, same watch except caseback, crown and dial marking... and price x 2 ! Gigandet was manufacturing watchcases for several swiss brands and also assemblying complete watches as a subcontractor for swiss watch companies. This chronograph has been serviced recently and all works perfectly including chrono start - stop and reset to zero. It is not new but very good overall condition, small traces of use on the 9h side, hardly noticeable on wrist. Will be fitted with a vintage new old stock brown crocograin strap (different from pic). As a vintage watch It is obviously considered as NOT WATERPROOF. No returns on vintage watches. Le mouvement révisé récemment fonctionne parfaitement avec des valeurs mesurées équivalentes à celles d' un mouvement neuf. Belle boîte de forme tonneau de 35 x 42 mm et ouverture de cadran de 32mm, épaisseur 12 mm, entrecornes 18mm, avec un beau travail de brossage de la face avant. Sera livré avec un bracelet neuf d' ancien stock brun foncé grain croco (ce n' est pas celui des photos qui était un peu trop sec). Petite usure à noter sur le côté de carrure opposé à la couronne, visible en photo mais pas au poignet. Très beau modèle si vous aimez les montres des années 60-70, ce chronographe est d' un dessin typique des 70's, il a été révisé et tout fonctionne comme il se doit. MONTRE NON ETANCHE compte tenu de sa construction et de son age. 1910 Longines Airmaster Montre Homme. État : "Occasion" Il s'agit d'une pièce amusante sur mesure basée sur un véritable mouvement de montre de poche Longines vers 1900. L'énorme boîtier de 49 mm est en acier inoxydable et a été usiné pour s'adapter au mouvement. Il comporte un bouton `` pin set '' encastré pour s'adapter à cette méthode de réglage des aiguilles sur ce type de mouvement plutôt qu'une couronne de traction plus familière. Le cadran a été produit dans le style d'une montre de pilote vintage avec le logo Longines et le logo Airmaster «composé». Le mouvement a été révisé et fonctionne à merveille, mais les mises en garde habituelles s'appliquent aux montres vintage. Cette montre a effectivement plus de 100 ans de par sa conception et ne résiste donc pas à des chocs importants ou à une exposition à l'humidité. Il est monté sur un bracelet en tissue et fait une déclaration assez sérieuse au poignet. This is a fun bespoke piece based on a genuine Longines pocket watch movement circa 1900. The enormous 49mm case is made of stainless steel and has been machined to fit the movement. It features a recessed `` pin set '' button to accommodate this method of setting the hands on this type of movement rather than a more familiar pull crown. The dial was produced in the style of a vintage pilot's watch with the Longines logo and the "compound" Airmaster logo. The movement has been revised and performs wonderfully, but the usual caveats apply to vintage watches. This watch is effectively over 100 years old by design and therefore does not withstand heavy shocks or exposure to moisture. It is mounted on a fabric strap and makes a pretty serious statement on the wrist.
