UNE MAIN UNIQUE MATELASSÉ FRANÇAIS FLORAL BED COVER OU EN FRANCE

A spectacular and rare antique French hand made quilted bed cover, or piqué de cotton. A large, heavy and warm cover with a thick natural batting (see photo of hole on blue side, the batting is peeping through). The red floral side is in good condition, just a slight difference in the ground, varying from white to cream, 2 tiny "snags". The small blue floral side has a hole which could easily be patched, some areas which are beginning to wear and faint yellow marks, see photos. Have gently washed and sun-dried, the colours did not run and the holes did not expand. Another quilt from the chateau attic brimming with quilts, curtains, fabric, monogrammed linen... 2320g I personally wash and iron all of the linen for sale at Frenchaffaires, it's the best way to closely examine every piece.
