1972 Ultra Chron Cushion Case Automatic Date Cal 6651 Excellent Condition History In 1967, Longines launches the Ultra-Chron, with a self-winding 11″ line caliber aiming to offer an alternative to the electronics and quartz used by the competition. The regulating organ of the L430 movement is a guarantee of accuracy, with the characteristics of a competition piece as it vibrates at a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour. The Caliber 6651 released in 1972 is the same quality movement with minor modifications done to lower its rate down to 28600 bph, adjusted to 4 positions to increase its accuracy.  Longines made that move to remedy the issue they faced with high frequency movements, which required a lot more attention and maintenance. It resulted in offering one of the best quality movement Longines has ever produced.  The watch  The condition of the watch is excellent, the case, the dial, hands and indexes and the movement are all original and in mint condition.  The bezel still has its original Sun-ray brushed finish, as the case has never been re-polished.  The watch functions work perfectly, date change, hand setting,  push pull of the crown, winding action….  My wrist is 7,1 Inches or 18cm wide (medium size). Aquastar skin diver Stainless steel skin diver from Aquastar, 1960’s. These were famous because they had only one crown and still an inner bezel to calculate the diving time, that one rotates with the crown in the “locked” position. It was thought to be better for the water resistance as there was only one crown hole to protect. Overall Condition: The watch is in superb conditions, specially the beautiful patina that it has developped. The dark blue shining dial is very well preserved, with its writings, showing that it has had short wrist time. No tools marks on the caseback. Note the funny hours hand with arms. Crown signed Aquastar Dimensions: 37,5mm without signed crown. Movement: in house caliber 1700/1 self-winding movement. Comes with a generic strap and buckle.

Vous achetez ce chronographe vintage  HERMA - ANGIL   au  joli cadran panda bleu, boîte tout  acier inoxydable  ,  animé par un  calibre à remontage manuel Valjoux 7734 . C 'est  un modèle peu courant et  élégant, je ne peux pas le vendre comme NOS car  il  était  dans un  stock  d' atelier et  probablement  utilisé en démonstration  à l' époque. Il a bénéficié d' une grande révision, mais considérez le a minima comme non porté. Je l' ai  trouvé dans le stock racheté à  un  assembleur jurassien  sous traitant  de Yema - Herma- Jaz entre autres,  qui  a fermé en  1976,  et  qui  produisait  en  petite quantité des modèles Herma sous sa propre marque ANGIL. Belle boîte acier de forme  coussin  de  40 mm de côté et ouverture de cadran de 27 x 27 mm,  épaisseur 14.0mm, entrecornes 20mm, avec un beau  travail  de brossage de la face avant.  Très intéressant si  vous aimez les  montres des années 60-70,   ce  chronographe est  d' un dessin typique des 70's, jusqu' au bracelet inox sur caoutchouc à déployante d' époque  Il a été révisé et tout fonctionne comme il se doit. A signaler de petites traces d' oxydation sur les flans de poussoirs et  la couronne  en regardant à la loupe et de petites marques de stockage très peu  visibles,  je n' ai  pas voulu le dénaturer par une refinition . MONTRE NON ETANCHE compte tenu  de sa construction. It is a rare and nice timepiece,  I cannot  write   NOS  because it  was included in  the sleeping stock of  Herma subcontractor. It  has just  been  serviced,  but consider it   at  least  as  unworn. I got  it  in the buy out stock of a watch assembly  subcontractor  based in  the french  Jura and closed in  1976. This subcontractor was working  for Herma and  produced the same versions with his own label ANGIL Cushion case  with  a nice   brushed face, 40.0 mm without  crown,  dial  aperture around 27 x 27 mm, overall  thickness 14.0mm,  interhorn  20mm.  Pushers and crown show  very small  oxydation  traces, hardly noticeable,  and there are very small storage marks. Very  interesting if you  are found of  chronographs  and watches of the 60 -70 's period, design  is typical from the 70's . SS + rubber strap with  folding  clasp  is typical of the 70's too.
