Often rumored but rarely seen, Mint should never be used as a grade unless more than one person agrees that the record or sleeve truly is in this condition. *Note: I almost never use MINT grade, I think it should only be used for perfect new sealed records or perfect b'"'still in shrinkb'"' records. I could occasionally use a conservative grade of [M-] (MINT-) to describe perfect records not new sealed or not b'"'still in shrinkb'"'. NEAR MINT (NM) A good description of a NM record is “it looks like it just came from a retail store and it was opened for the first time.” In other words, it’s nearly perfect. Many dealers won’t use a grade higher than this, implying (perhaps correctly) that no record or sleeve is ever truly perfect. NM records are shiny, with no visible defects. Writing, stickers or other markings cannot appear on the label, nor can any “spindle marks” from someone trying to blindly put the record on the turntable. Major factory defects also must be absent; a record and label obviously pressed off center is not Near Mint. If played, it will do so with no surface noise. (NM records don’t have to be “never played”; a record used on an excellent turntable can remain NM after many plays if the disc is properly cared for.) NM covers are free of creases, ring wear and seam splits of any kind. Note: Sometimes I can add an additional conservative grade of [NM-] or [VG++] to this guide to describe records just under [NM] or b'"'almost [NM] perfect with a few minor flawsb'"'. VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+) / EXCELLENT A good description of a VG+ record is “except for a couple minor things, this would be Near Mint.” Most collectors, especially those who want to play their records, will be happy with a VG+ record, especially if it toward the high end of the grade (sometimes called VG++). VG+ records may show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated playing has not misshapen the hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. VG+ covers should have only minor wear. A VG+ cover might have some very minor seam wear or a split (less than one inch long) at the bottom, the most vulnerable location. Also, a VG+ cover may have some defacing, such as a cut-out marking. Covers with cut-out markings can never be considered Near Mint. VERY GOOD (VG) Many of the imperfections found on a VG+ record are more obvious on a VG record. Je sors le disque (avec sa sous-pochette) de sa pochette cartonnée, car sinon le disque peut bouger et faire des trous dans la pochette (vécu en tant qu’acheteur). Puis j’ajoute 3 couches de protection : 1.    pochette en plastique comme celle que vous trouvez chez un disquaire. 2.    enveloppe à bulles avec des cales pour assurer l’écart avec le 3ème niveau. 3.    carton cannelé haute qualité, très rigide, avec la mention « fragile »   Shipping with Mondial Relay tracking, perfectly reliable. I have shipped hundreds of discs and have never encountered any problems. Here is my method. I take the disc (with its under-cover) out of its cardboard cover, because otherwise the disc can move and make holes in the cover (experienced as a buyer). Then I add 3 layers of protection: 1. plastic pouch like the one you find at a record store. 2. bubble wrap with shims to ensure the gap with the 3rd level. 3. high quality fluted cardboard, very rigid, with the mention "fragile"

Only most minimal deterioration in sound quality. The sleeve is almost mint. Quasi Neuf Disque et pochette sont en état quasi neufs, jamais ou très peu joués et manipulés. Ils comportent le minimum de trace d’usure possible. EX Excellent The record shows some signs of having been played, but still plays perfectly. The vinyl may have some tiny wear or marks, but nothing major and nothing that affects play. The cover could show only slight wear and/or creasing but it’s still close to mint. Excellent Le disque a déjà été écouté plusieurs fois. Mais il passe toujours comme neuf. Si il y a des micro rayures, elles sont sans conséquences et quasi invisbles. La pochette est splendide, quelques signes manipulations, petites pliures, rien d’important quasi neuve VG+ Very Good+ The record have been played many times, show wear, small marks or light scratches but nothing deep. It still plays very well. The cover shows some wear, light creasing, maybe tiny tears or pen marks. Overall this is the condition of Most of records sold in second hand. Très Bon+ Disque a déjà été écouté, il peut y avoir des petites rayures, peut craquer très légèrement, mais l’écoute reste très satisfaisante. La Pochette est usée, petites écritures ou pliures mais très correcte. La plus part des disques d’occasions sont dans cette condition. VG Very Good The record shows non-deep scratches, surface marks,wear and displays some surface noise. But still very playable. The cover shows wear, creasing, maybe spine splits, BB/cut hole, pen marks or small tears. It may be great but with an inner sleeve or an insert missing. Très bon Le disque a été beaucoup écouté. Il y a des rayures et il craque. Néanmoins l’écoute reste satisfaisante sans être optimale. La pochette est usée, un poil déchirée, des grosses écritures. C’est aussi la note pour une pochette superbe mais ou il manque l’insert ou autre chose. Original French Pressing!!!!...Rare!! *VINYL: VG+ *COVER: VG(VG+) From the liner notes of F.U.2 - Punk Rock, 2012 Reissue of the Album originally release in 1977.  F.U.2 - The Myth and the Legend by Terry Clemson aka Terry Gibson  "F.U.2, the album, has for many years been the subject of much speculation. Some refer to it as the "Secret Downliners Sect Album". It really never was........  Many theories and stories of how it came about have circulated over the years...  How it actually came about was thanks to a record producer friend of mine, Eddie Bourne. Eddie was asked to produce a Punk album, by a band called The Vacants. At the time Eddie felt the band needed augmenting for recording purposes, so he asked me to play guitar on the session...  Following on the back of the relative success of The Vacants album, I pursuaded Eddie to allow me to record a Punk album under the name F.U.2.  It all started out as a bit of a joke really. It was late 1970's that me and Keith Grant (2), of the Downliners Sect, set about to write the songs. Some of these we already had in the can that we thought would fit the bill, like "Out Of School", "Playin' My Guitar" which incidentally were later to appear on the Sects 'Showbiz' album. It wasn't long before ten other songs had been assembled and were ready to take into the studio.  As a band F.U.2 obviously never existed, so Keith and I enlisted musician friends to play on the session. Paul Holm was on drums, Robin Langridge on keyboards. Don Craine on rhythm guitar and Paul Tiller on blues harp were also co-opted to play on a couple of tracks.
