Another breakthrough during this decade was Beomaster 1900, a radio receiver and amplifier launched in 1976. Once again, design and operation differed dramatically from other contemporary products. Originally designed by Jacob Jensen, Beomaster 1900, together with Beomaster 2400-2 were two advanced FM stereo receivers. They had identical technical specification and performance. Both were easy to use and easy to live with. Beomaster 2400-2 had the additional convenience of a cordless ultrasonic remote control module by which you could operate radio, amplifier and Beogram 2400 or 4004 record deck from a distance. Both receivers had touch-sensitive controls for operating the features and functions you used every day. Nearly 5 frames per second without an external motor or battery pack was uncommon for its day, coupled with the four-sensor autofocus system that could continuously track not only horizontally but vertically and diagonally—even when an object came towards the camera. The autofocus system could focus at light levels of −1 ev and up to 19 ev (at ISO 100). It also used a 14-segment light metering system, variations of it being used for many years in most Minolta cameras. It featured a 1/300 of a second x-sync flash synchronization with stepless shutter speeds from 1/12000 of a second to 30sec in Program and Aperture Priority mode.[1] A mechanical shutter this fast is still to this day[when?] uncommon. The 9xi had many other abilities, many perhaps hidden at first sight. The camera could, without any external backs like the Minolta 9000 or cards like the Minolta 8000i, bracket 3 exposures each one 1/2 a stop different (each way). Probably just another passing fad I assumed yet it is clear that there are many who love these diminutive boxes.  So as a brief background I recently had a pair of Combak Bravo standmount speakers and was searching for an amplifier to pair with them. A £6k speaker surely deserves an amplifier with a similar price tag? Well in my initial search I decided, just for fun to try a £60 Muse Mini-T with the Combak’s. The results were surprisingly impressive yet my head kept saying  ‘This makes no sense’. I’m not saying that this was the ultimate combo but the Muse was doing an amazing job considering especially with its reproduction of vocals. It was around that time that I started reading about the new Amptastic Mini-1 so I contacted the company to see if I could have one for review. Chris at Amptastic was happy to oblige but due to the initial demand by the time my review sample arrived I had moved the Bravos on. Anyway other speakers are available as they say. So the Mini-1 is rated up to 20W per channel and based on the familiar TA2020 chipset. On the front we have a push button on/off switch which has a tiny blue LED alongside to indicate power  plus a volume knob. I particularly like how clean and attractive the front panel with no unsightly logo on display. The rear consists of a single pair if RCA analogue inputs and some nice quality speaker connectors along with a power input for use with the supplied 12V power supply. For most of my listening I used the variable outputs of a QUAD 99CDP. This gave me full control of the volume via its remote and also access to streaming via the Quad’s digital inputs. To give me some sort of reference I initially listened to the Muse amp with the Quad through my 87db Gershman Avant Gardes. To be honest I didn’t think either amp would be able to drive the Gershmans to any sort of decent level. I was wrong. The Muse did a fair job but KD Lang’s  ‘If I Were You’ from the ‘All You Can Eat’ album sounded a bit messy. The bass was ill defined and lightweight. A few tracks more showed more of the same.  So switching to the Mini-1 and straight away the bass was far better defined and more in balance with the rest of the track. The music had an altogether more cohesive feel. In fact what struck me throughout all my listening is just how balanced it was. The highs and mids are refined enough to give the impression that you are listening to something with a higher price ticket and the bass was surprisingly good for an amplifier of this type. I also tried the Mini-1 with my 90db sensitivity Heco Celan 300 stand mount speakers. Again the results were impressive with the Mini-1 providing more than enough power to run at decent volume levels. As well as running the Mini-1 as a simple integrated it can be configured for use as a power amplifier. This is done by removing the front volume knob and rear bolts in order to slide the main board out of its case and change a couple of jumper settings. While you have the board out you can also disable the front panel blue LED if you wish. Clear instructions are included in the user ‘manual’ or should I say ‘sheet’ and although I did not attempt this it looks a simple enough operation. The Mini-1 (or any amplifier of this type) will not be for everyone, the single input alone will count many out also possibly the lack of remote control but looking at the Mini-1 purely on its sonic virtues and price tag this might be one of the best ways to invest your £99 out there. This superzoom camera basically works but the zoom control can be a little picky -- you might need to move it a couple of times before it makes a good connection. Ricoh-Pentax is legendary for its weather sealing, and so is this body. To be honest, it is only for health issues that I am selling. I tried the Hasselblad mirrorless X1D, the fuji GFX50s (dreadfull experience with the laziest AF in the world and a poor battery life), theGFX100 (much better experience, but I wasn’t impressed by image quality and rendering…must be the glass), and I always come back to the Pentax 645z. I have never been impressed by Fuji GFX image quality. I Liked the Leica S (again it must be the glass and the lens design that make the real differences), the Hasselblad was interesting, but way too expensive comparing with the Pentax, not even considering the weather sealing and the very long list of ergonomic treats you get from Pentax engineers. It is about creating images and only this, it is not a smartphone. It’s a photographer tool, not a toy. In 2018 I was disappointed by Canon full-frame offering. The5d4 was too expensive and there wasn’t a gap in quality from any canon full Frame since 5d2 and I decided to enter the medium format world with the 645z. I already tried it in Japan in 2015 and I said “well, this would be nice…”. After having bought this camera with literally undying battery life (what a refreshment comparing with all electronic newest camera), I just went to my garden and started right away the 120mm macro. I was dumb because I had no AF at all, but discovered the cleverest mechanism for AF/MF switch to date:sliding the focus ring. There is a slight click and I was all set. Yes the screw motor lenses are a bit noisy, but it’s nice and at the first picture of a random blossoming flower…God almighty, it was like a facepalm, struck by beauty and sheer quality. I decided to keep on the Pentax 645z journey and collect some lenses. The 28-45mm was very soon my favorite landscape lens,equivalent to 22-35mm, extraordinary quality, stabilized, totally weather sealed…those words should surprise you as medium format+stabilized lens+weather sealing…seldom go together. Then came the 90mm macro f2.8, stabilized as well and weather sealed. This may simply be the best lens I’ve ever used for portrait work, incredibly smooth yet detailed. Bokeh is one thing but volumes,transition, tones, textures, it’s just amazing for portrait, and pack shots as well. I wanted to try tele lenses, and acquired the 300mm “star”lens. Build like real lenses with metal, feels solid. Image quality was amazing too, I capture incredible shots of tigers with it, and this lens can really tell stories and add a unique identity. All the lenses are incredible, sharp, and each with unique though I must admit the 150mm f2.8, even though hailed as the portrait king by some other photographers, was often left on the shelf. I discover the craft of using 80s East-Germany Isco lenses for the Pentax and I assembled my favorite lens with a 135mm F2projector lens. This one is really a collectible, manual focus only, it cannot go to the infinity (but for portrait, who cares?) require a good amount of focus skills and mastery of yourself, but it is a very rewarding lens. After all,Helmut Newton shot in medium format with manual focus only, and look at his work…With this wide aperture and unique look, it sad to let it go. MXR Distortion + 80's in very good condition, it's from 1981 if i remember correctly, it's written on the pots anyway and if it's important to you, ask me and i will check it again. it has the famous chip UA741CP like the early DOD 250, it's basically the same pedal except it has different resistance, this one has germanium and the DOD 250 has silicon but for me they sound similar, i have both, the MXR has less gain and is a bit more fuzzy because of the germanium pieces inside but anyway it's the same pedal Randy Rhoads used and early Iron Maiden too, it sounds marvelous for bluesy stuff in my Marshall Plexi amp but it can do heavy metal too... For those who wonder why it is so expensive, it's because it's the real deal, not the new ones who sounds very bad even if they have the same circuit, i know because i had one, i think it's because of the age, i always preferred my vintage pedals because they all have a special mojo that the new ones don't have, i also have a vintage Ibanez TS9 and i had the new one too and it's not the same thing, there's a reason people are buying vintage pedals... Hello everyone! Selling my Canon FD 35 SSC f2. Mount is FD but adaptable on all kind of cameras with the proper ring adapter. I've been using it with a FD to Emount Sony Metabones Speedbooster adapter and the combo works mint.  Awesome lens, but I won't have to introduce it to you if you arrived on this page! FD 35 SSC  SN 109268 It is in good condition, as described on the description part above, it has lights marks (3 or 4) on the front glass and a light deformation on the filter thread at the front - Nevertheless it does not stop you from using a UV filter if necessary.  The marks on the front glass does not appears while in use, but I prefer to notice you! Inside the glass had no fungus (and never had some!), there is no haze or no dust inside. Cosmetic wise it has marks of use, the paint is old but there aren't any scratch or bump. It's only the sign of the age and a regular use of the lens.  To rate the shape of this lens, I would say  3 to 3.5/5 for cosmetic  4.5/5 for mechanics including lens moving smooth in the barrel etc  4/5 for glass  It is not declicked. It is as sold in the 1970's! Original. Mechanics are good and rings are smooth. Ring for F stops and ring for focus pulling are smooth and working fine.  The mount works perfect as well. Nothing is loose, shaky or dodgy here.  It comes with a generic front cap and rear FD cap.  Do not hesitate to ask question if you need more details.
