DESPITE ALL THEIR previous trials and tribulations, Legs Diamond released their sixth album in 1990 to wide acclaim, certainly attracting more attention and publicity than their first four records released in the 1970s and 80s. For Legs it was an incredible achievement, having been cast aside for much of the late 80s as a band without a prominent sales base or indeed any chance of a revival. Fortunately, as an underground favourite amongst the cognoscenti, their reputation preceded them with a new record deal (this time on Metal Blade Records) and a chance to actually make an album recorded with precision and finesse rather than pieced together on a shoestring budget. Issued in 1990, the record was considered a real return to form, many saying that it was the best release since their 70s heyday. It also signalled the welcome return of original guitarist Roger Romeo back into the band after several years pursuing other opportunities. With Rick Sanford supplying high octane vocals the band looked and sounded better than ever, with a creative surge that gave birth to twelve ‘gold standard’ songs’ including a blistering re-recording of ‘Stage Fright’ from their debut album. Pushing the envelope even more, the band were now in a financial position to finally tour the UK after years of being unable to afford such a trip. Toile de tente allemande Heer (Zeltbahn), 2nd modèle avec 1 seul trou au-dessus des œillets, fabrication tardive en camouflage éclat avec boutons en fer et tampon RBNr. Belle variante 2 tons: 1 face printemps et 1 face automne. Les couleurs restent vivent surtout sur le côté automne. La toile possède les 3/4 de ses boutons d'origine ainsi que 2 des cordelettes d'attache sur 3. Le tampons RBNr est encore visible dans l'un des coins: reichsbetriebsnummer 0/0578/0026 Le premier "0" est effacé et le "8" à peine visible. La toile a été visiblement portée: il n'y a pas de réparation mais la toile a quelques déchirures en plusieurs endroits en périphérie. La partie centrale n'a pas de déchirure seulement quelques petites taches ça et là mais rien de méchant. Il ne manque aucune pièce de tissu. Belle toile de tente pour équiper un mannequin ou pour vitrine. Toile récupérée auprès de son tout premier propriétaire provenant de la région de Schwandorf (Bavière). L'état de la Zeltbahn est visible sur les photos, d'autres photos sur demande. Original German Zeltbahn from Heer, late variant with only 1 hole above the grommet, manufactured after 1943, nice splintertarn variant with spring pattern on one side and autumn on the other. Colours remain fresh. Zeltbahn still has 3/4 its original buttons as well as 2 of 3 fastening ropes. RBNr ink markings in lower corner is still visible and readable: reichsbetriebsnummer 0/0578/0026 The zeltbahn as been clearly worn and used. There no repair but the zeltbahn is torn in peripheral. The central part has no tear, only some stains here and there but nothing nasty. There is no shortage of fabric, then the torn parts can be sewn if you decided to do so. Beautiful zeltbahn bought to its first owner in the area of Schwandorf (Bavaria), perfect to equip a mannequin or for shop window. The state of the Zeltbahn is visible on the pictures, other pictures on request.
