Rare 1960's bongoes in white mother of pearl, made by one of the emerging Japanese manufacturers, which, most likely, ended up becoming PEARL or TAMA. The design, as with most Japanese drums of the period, is very reminiscent of/influenced by the American manufacturer Slingerland. You can see the dimensions in the photos, which are, in this case, pretty standard, I believe. These are becoming difficult to find and have a nice, big sound. As you may know, Orville was a brand of guitars run by the Gibson Guitar Corporation for the Japanese domestic market during the late 1980s and most of the 1990s. The guitars were designed to the highest standards, mimicking to perfection the most valuable Gibson guitars. Though they were not initially made for export, second hand Orvilles have since travelled the world, and because of their rarity have gained a cult-like following over the years. This is one is among the earliest Orvilles from 1989, as evidenced by the K-09 serial sticker on the back of the headstock, and is a great exemple of the exceptional japanese crafstmanship of the era. The guitar is in very nice shape, with the patina of a well cared for 30+ year old guitar: there's tarnishing on the gold pickups and hardware, some tiny marks here and there that I tried my best to photograph, but overall a very well preserved instrument. Neck is arrow straight and true with low action, fret job is flawless. A real easy player. It is also a light and resonant one, with a weight of only 3.82 kg measured on a digital scale (that's 8.42 lbs). Rings out clearly unplugged, sounds amazing plugged in. J'ai cherché des commentaires sur ce modèle et j'en ai trouvé sur www.harmonycentral.com que je pourrais résumer par "très bon son et solidité remarquable". Je vous laisse vérifier. Je ne suis pas musicien donc je ne peux pas jouer de cet instrument mais je suis persuadé que notre guitare est en excellent état, presque comme neuve. This classic fixed-lens rangefinder is in very good condition (this is the later, or b'"'New,b'"' more compact version). Lens is clean and clear: no fungus, no haze. There's a small coating scratch on the front element, but nothing that would impact performance. Shutter fires on all speeds. Metering is accurate against my Sekonic. Focus is smooth across the range. Viewfinder is clean and clear, with a nicely contrasty rangefinder patch. Film counter advances and resets properly. Self-timer works. As with most Japanese cameras of this vintage, the light seals on the film door are degraded; if you don't want to replace them, I'd recommend shooting a test roll to check for light leaks before using the camera for serious work.
