DESPITE ALL THEIR previous trials and tribulations, Legs Diamond released their sixth album in 1990 to wide acclaim, certainly attracting more attention and publicity than their first four records released in the 1970s and 80s. For Legs it was an incredible achievement, having been cast aside for much of the late 80s as a band without a prominent sales base or indeed any chance of a revival. Fortunately, as an underground favourite amongst the cognoscenti, their reputation preceded them with a new record deal (this time on Metal Blade Records) and a chance to actually make an album recorded with precision and finesse rather than pieced together on a shoestring budget. Issued in 1990, the record was considered a real return to form, many saying that it was the best release since their 70s heyday. It also signalled the welcome return of original guitarist Roger Romeo back into the band after several years pursuing other opportunities. With Rick Sanford supplying high octane vocals the band looked and sounded better than ever, with a creative surge that gave birth to twelve ‘gold standard’ songs’ including a blistering re-recording of ‘Stage Fright’ from their debut album. Pushing the envelope even more, the band were now in a financial position to finally tour the UK after years of being unable to afford such a trip. Naturally they received a hero’s welcome and a well deserved salute to their perseverance and tenacity. ‘Town Bad Girl’ is a record that contains a brace of stellar tracks, including ‘City Streets’, ‘Look Into Her Eyes’ and ‘Never Enough Time’, some of the greatest moments in the Legs Diamond cannon. 24-bit remastering from original source tapes, 4,000 word story of the making of the album, full involvement by the band, rare photos, one bonus track, all spread out over a superb 12 page full colour booklet. Cette semaine je vends une très importante collection de disques classiques provenant en très grande partie d'un appartement (fermé pendant plus de 30 ans) ayant appartenu à un critique musical. Une majorité de ces disques figurent des interprétations des plus grands solistes, notamment de violonistes. Une partie importante concerne des disques soviétiques (SOV DISC) dont les pressages ont été réalisés en ex-URSS avec des pochettes françaises. Ces disques, dans leur immense majorité, n'ont jamais été joués ! Ceux qui ont été écoutés l'ont été 2/3 fois au maximum. Ayant séjourné dans un endroit sec mais non dépourvu de poussière, les disques n'ont été nettoyés que superficiellement avant que je ne les prenne en photo. Chaque collectionneur ayant sa propre méthode de nettoyage, je laisse le soin de cette délicate opération à leurs futurs propriétaires. A majority of these records include performances by the greatest soloists, including violinists. An important part concerns Soviet records (SOV DISC) whose pressing were made in the former USSR with French covers. These records, in their vast majority, have never been played ! Those who were listened to it were 2/3 times at most. Having stayed in a dry place but not free of dust, the records were cleaned only superficially before I took the pictures. The cover has very minor flaws: a name or discrete initials, low wear corners, very slight ringwear. VG + + (VERY GOOD + +) More surface marks.Minor flaws or cover wear, minor edge wear. This is generally the grade given to a 20 to 50 years old record with a "normal" life, treated with care, but listened and handled regularly by his former owner. VG + (VERY GOOD +) Has been played a lot, shows multiple slight surface marks (hairlines) generating background noise between songs but no jump or skips. Cover shows important signs of age and storage (slice corners worn, name, date, dedication, tears, etc....). Generally, this record was one of the favorites among previous owner discotheque, went from hand to hand, had to animate some parties and bears the scars of a busy life. VG (VERY GOOD) The record is very worn, has been played a lot, shows important scratches that are creating permanent background noises but do not skip or jump. Still listenable (especially at high volume for big sound). The cover is well worn, torn important corner and edge wear, significant traces of marker pen or... well, the previous grade but more accentuated. G (GOOD) Has been played to the hilt (but sti
